N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Jennifer,

If your SR daughter goes through Battlestations on Thursday night and passes, yes, her being up in the stands (look up high on either side) means she graduated and you will get liberty with her!  Her name will be on the Access List~~  :)

Hello All!

"The sun will no more be your light by day,

nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you,

for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and

Your God will be your glory."

We are going for sure. I would never want to take that chance. Just curious about that last question and also if she would have liberty that day even if she didn't go through battle stations til Thursday.

Jennifer-I would go unless you get that dreaded call. Have faith, she could get through and if you don't go and she does graduate, you will be so upset. Still praying for your girl.

One more scenario for you dianne. And again, thank you for all your help. If by chance my daughter can only do battle stations Thursday night and passes and can't participate in the ceremony because of safety reasons, and will be in the stands is she considered graduating, would she be on the list? Sorry if this is a confusing question.

Jennifer:   A long time ago, for those families who went up to see their "sailors" at PIR, only to find out that they were not sailors yet because they had not passed the PFA, they WERE allowed to see their SRs on base for 2 hours.  They stopped doing that about 2 yrs ago.  That may be the info you had seen before. If a family gets to PIR and their SR's name is not on the list as graduating, they will not be allowed on base.  It puts some in a bad situation...since, like ellen said, they can actually have gone through BattleStations the night before PIR (with the next PIR group).  Some families continue with their PIR plans after not hearing from their SRs again (after that dreaded "didn't pass my PFA, don't come" call).  Although RTC tells families NOT to go to GL if you do not get the I'm a Sailor call after receiving the "failed PFA" call, it is a hard decision.  Many travel plans are on a day that their SR may be passing....and they don't want to chance missing it.  In the past, some have cancelled plans, only to find out later that their sailor was graduating.....but too late for them to be there.  Others have kept their plans, gone to the gate only to find that their SR is not graduating.  They would just spend their time then exploring the area, but of course so disappointed not being able to see their SR.  Still others take a chance and find their sailor's name on the list!  It is a hard position to be in, but most of the SRs do pass before PIR....

3boyzmom I will keep your son in my thoughts and prayers with my daughter. Sending them good vibes together.
