Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Williewish my son called his dad and step mom and they contacted me to let me know he is a Sr. I have seen lots of posts about people saying everyone in 308 has passed, hang in there I'm sure you will get a call. I know it's stressful not knowing but I'm sure you will get notified soon.

Williewish, I feel for you. It must be agonizing. I saw a post on FB around 9 pm Great Lakes time that all of 9/308 passed battlestations!! I'm sure there's a good explanation why he didn't get to call tonight. Stay positive!

dianne....you don't understand...he would not have failed.  There were no others on Facebook etc that got call from the 308 so that is why I am wondering about the whole DIV. He would have never fallen asleep...It is almost like Div 308 disappeared from the radar this afternoon. No calls posted on Facebook except for one on here. Maybe the whole DIV had to do a do-over. He was being promoted again ....third promotion since being at there. I know that there is a logical reason for no call today but, it does not make it easy tonight. I also feel for the others that have someone in 308 and did not hear anything today.

williewish:  That seems strange.....did you check his FB account to see if he posted there?  Some get on the computers before they get to phones.  He could have had watch also.  Hoping that you get the call this weekend....don't think it will come tonight since I feel they are now asleep.....If you didn't get a call that he had failed his final PFA by yesterday, then go on no news is good news.  The PFA is what can trip some of them up and they do call if they failed it.  If he has to repeat BattleStations for any reason, no worries....he will pass the 2nd time (they can fail for falling asleep too).  Hoping that he is a sailor, but just missed the calls and will call soon.

No, Mandy.  Just make sure you have the rental papers with you and if you are using your own insurance, that you have your insurance card with you.
