~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good Morning!
nerdynerdenstein: There are actual 3 MeetandGreets, but we highly recommend Sarge's. He is retired military (20 yrs) in the area for 30 yrs. He is a big help to the sailors at A School there in addition to the PIR families...with his transportation service and knowledge of the military and the area there. The MeetandGreets are only for family members/friends of the sailors PIRing the next day...no sailors will be there :-(. Years ago, they did have a Family Night that included the sailors, but no more. So, yes, the first time you see your new sailors is at PIR!
The divisions for this group should be posted soon by RTC. At that time, you can go ahead and book your hotels/flights if you like (Southwest Airlines won't charge you a change fee in the event you have to change reservations, and 2 bags check for free....they fly into both Milwaukee (45 minutes to GL) and Chicago-Midway (hour+ to GL).
I am sure that 371-376 will be in this PIR group. Beyond that, we will have to see, but most likely many more divisions will be here since lately, the PIR groups have been larger....11-13 divisions usually. Just be patient. As soon as RTC posts the divisions on their site, we will change the title up top to reflect that.
Also, what is Sarge's Meet and Greet? My husband is a Marine and they had Family Day the day before graduation where you get to see your Marine and spend time on base with them. But I was under the impression that the first time we get to see our SR was at the grad ceremony.
Navywifetobe007me: my daughter is 14/375. Now I am hesitant to book accommodations if that division is still waiting to fill!
Are there any veteran moms on here that know what that means?
Can't wait to see you there too, and we will all get though the bc with you. The reward will be to see all our SR graduate on 10-04.
this site was how I knew to send him with a phone card and have it ready to use, thanks so much for all of your help and guidance, as a newbie I would be lost without you
Disy: Correct on the small percentage of families represented on N4Moms. Very sad that more don't know about or know and don't use this site.
When my son was at bootcamp, his card ran out in the middle of a call....he was able to buy another one right then and called right back.
