Didn't know that.. do we know how soon they actually ship out after PIR?  thank you.

My son is going to Groton after PIR 10/5, too! Most likely they will leave on 10/6. From what I have read, there is a very small chance they won't leave until 10/7. I plan to be at PIR, and I plan to be at the airport to see him off to CT. Hope to meet you there.

That would be great.  My flight is on 10/7 at 11:30am back to Tampa, I hope I will be able to see him off prior to my departure......

I live in N Florida--just west of Gainesville.  Flying out of Jacksonville

While he/we haven't gotten a letter with his next orders yet, he seemed to think that from what his recruiter said he would be going to his 'A' school frist then off to sub school. With that in mine it wasn't till after sub school but before he gets stationed somewere that he would get to come home. Should be around Christmas time by my calendar. But who knows.

My son, Rian - did mention in the one phone call I have gotten, that it would be around Christmas or New Years before he could come home for a bit.

Our son will also be leaving for Groton after PIR, everything I have read so far indicates that he will leave on 10/6. We made our returning reservations for late evening on the sixth so we can spend a little more time with him at the airport.

My son is going to sub school as well. However he seems to be under the impression that he will stay in GL for A-school. Then off to Groton. I wish we knew for sure. We are flying in on Thursday and leaving late Saturday as well. Any ideas on how I can get a parking pass? My spiteful ex won't give me the password. *Sigh

My son graduates on 10/5 too and is off to Groton as well. His letter a few weeks ago said to me that he will ship out to Groton on 10/6 for 7 weeks then back to Great Lakes for 14. Thats as much as I know..hope that helps....

Just heard from mine today, he is off to 'A' school first, then he goes to sub school. Orders are still tenative but its all i have right now.
