Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 948

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

That would be amazing. Hopefully that happens. I would love to hear from my husband!

Everyone I have a question my daughter would like for us to bring her phone in October will she be allowed to have it after she graduates???

Good evening,

I believe I read that it is OK to bring the phone and give it to the Sailor at the airport.  Unfortunately, I am not sure at this moment where I found that info.  Will add the link to that resource when I find it again.

Thank you riverrose. I never got around to suspending her line and I didn't see the point really. I'm anxious to see her now.

NavymomIngrid:

Thanks for accepting my friend request.

As promised here is the link to what I found that mentioned phones after BC:    http://navyformoms.com/group/bootcampmoms/page/gift-ideas-for-pir

The title of the Group/Discussion (not sure which it is) "Gifts Ideas for PIR."

Half way down the discussion is a section titled:

Gifts that will have to wait until your Sailor has checked in at "A" School or is at the airport

Among other things listed under this section is iphone, thus my conclusion that they can take a phone to A school, though I am thinking I read it somewhere else also.  If I find another source, will copy the link.

Guess what?   Only 37 more days until we see our daughters again!!  :)

Here's hoping for mail tomorrow.  :)

Phones can be given at the airport to your sailors.  For those staying in GL, once they return from Liberty with you, they can bring back personal items including their phones.

Adding an update from Division 948:  We received our first phone call from our daughter yesterday (8/30/15).  So nice to hear her voice again.  Sounded good but tired, said she is very busy.  Not sure when she would be allowed to call again.  Was allotted 15 minutes for this call.

Happy you got the call I know it's a big relief. I'm counting down for the third call and more of my daughter's letters.

Does anyone know if we are getting calls today??

Has anyone in 948 received a call since 8/30?

In last week's letter our SR said she would be calling Sunday, 9/13, but Sunday came and went with no phone call.

I am holding onto the "no news is good news" right now.

From one of the other discussion boards I have concluded that today is week 4, day 1 for Div 948.

Yes, Hooyah Jeff explained that yesterday began 4-1 for 948 and also that the other divisions do a blood drive (from which they sometimes post pics) on 5-1 but the 900 divisions do not participate in the blood drive because of drill schedules (I'm assuming that means all the rehearsal for PIR).
