OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello Friends~~

     "He gives strength to the weary and increases

      the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired

      and weary, and the young stumble and fall;

      But those who hope in the Lord will renew

      their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;

      they will run and not grow weary, they will walk

      and not be faint."

                                                    Isaiah 40:29-31

Yeah!!! the mailman came.  She says she is good and passing her tests.  Like the gun and got marksman.  She said that someone told her you don't get homesick until week 5 and she didn't believe them.  She said it's true and she is starting to feel it.  She also said "Hell Week" wasn't that bad.  lol

Comment by Curlyq on September 24, 2015 at 12:52pm

It's Thursday...that means it's stalk the mailman day.  lol

I can't believe we are talking about Battle Station, it was just yesterday that I opened the box and got potato chips all over my floor.

I could not have made it this far without you great Moms.
