Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Good Morning All. For those not on the PIR 10/10 group page. This is a FYI. There is a contest going on by the Armed Services Blood Program. In honor of "Talk Like a Pirate Day" on Friday Sept 19th, they are asking for pictures of people, pets, you name it to be submitted via private message on FB (uploaded to the group page will not count and will be deleted) of anyone dressed like a Pirate. Does not have to be full costume, could be a hat, a bandanna, scarf, eye patch etc Each picture taken should have a sign with Ship # and Division #. The Division that received the most pictures wins. The Prize is a picture of that Division. Lets go PIR 10/10 start getting those pictures submitted. Remember they have to be PM's via FB. If you do not have a FB account let me know. We want one of our Divisions to win. Would love if it was my SRs Div 318

We are less than 4 weeks away from Sarge's Meet & Greet and PIR. If you have not done so, and are planning on going to the Meet & Greet please remember to RSVP. There will be a basket raffle at the Meet & Greet. We are now up to 32 baskets promised. We are still looking for more baskets. If you would like to donate a basket, you can comment here or send me a private message. I am also on the 10/10 PIR groups on FB. We would love for this to be the best raffle EVER!!! Thank you to all who have promised so far.
