Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 337 & 338. These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the main wall to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

I just read on the main room that from Oct. 5th PIR and onwards they will wear dress blues for PIR.....is that not the white sailor outfit? do they still have a white sailor outfit?
And YIKES that is cold.....who knew?!?!? LOL
23 days and counting......Night all....Nancy
Hey wonders520 from what I understand they are issued all of their uniforms (including the white sailor outfit) in boot camp.
When my husband called me last week he said they would be wearing their dress blues for PIR on 10-12. They are not the whites and actually not very blue-they look black in person to me. The entire outfit is very dark blue with the white stripes on the collar- and a white cap =) hope that helps with your ques!!
Hey Everyone -
Natalie and Nancy - Nick was in the Sea Cadets and they were commissioned to wear Naval uniforms. The dress Whites are for Spring/Summer wear and the Dress Blues are Fall/Winter. A funny memory is that when Nick got his Dress Blues for Sea Cadets he was determined to "wash and iron them myself Mom" when I told him he needed to have them dried cleaned. So, my 5'10 son threw the WOOL dress Blues in the washer and needless to say they sure has heck didn't need to be hemmed after that HAHHAHA. The unit had to issue him a new uniform and he listened to me after that about taking them to the cleaners =o)
Natalie - they do look black instead of blue. I will say that I think the Navy Dress Blues are the best looking uniforms of all the branches!!!!!
Nancy - Nick promised to send the questionnaire this week...so fingers crossed!
Omgeez Nancy!!!! I'm laughing so much about that!
No letter for us today either....we're in Northern Ca. maybe tomorrow of Friday =o)
Please share when you get them ladies!!!!
We got lots of letters again today! He had his wisdom teeth out on tuesday and was enjoying the rest, He was upset that he missed wednesdays call.:( He had his Military ID taken and said his left side of his face was swollen 15 times more than normal :(...He said he has 2 good friends from California..I think it said 1 is from south California. His writing is horrible! Lol..He also said That so many of the recruits are not taking this serious and as He put it "They think they are at summer camp and think that there conversations are more important than listening".. He will be attending Advanced Technical Engineering school for 19 weeks, He also explained how they earn days for leave..He said time is flying by because they are so busy! ( I wish I could say the same).. He still has his sense of humour and made us laugh out loud with some of the things he wrote! :) Can't wait to see this guy!!!!
Yay Robin!! I got a letter too today!! I had a 2 hr break from wk so of course I came home to check for my letter!!! Nathan sounds so much better than he did when he called and on his previous letter. He said his morale is higher since being able to talk to me last week. He said that his Div (337) is starting to pull together a bit more and he hopes that they could actually win some type of honors, but he isn't holding his breath.
He said he is doing really well with the academics. Nathan wasn't always the best at school so I'm soo happy for him and extremely proud of him for working so hard! He said all the guys keep saying how beautiful our baby Lily (Mini Australian Shepherd) is =) He said lots of the guys have pics of their pets too lol. He mentioned that they haven’t started the "cool" stuff yet-like firefighting or live fire but they should soon.
I cannot tell you guys how relieved I am that he is doing better mentally. He had me worried for a second there. He seems to be doing better every day!!
