Welcome to the discussion group for division 822.
Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).
sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division. Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.
Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.
We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there ladies!!!

good to know b/c my SR is not giving this mama any details!!!
I haven't RSVP'd yet, but was going to plan on making Sarge's Meet & Greet if that was the one most of the rest of you are going to try and make. I am driving in from KC on Thursday, so not sure what time we will arrive. It is only about a 7-8 hour drive, but I am picking up my parents and my daughter, so when we leave will depend on when they are ready.
What Facebook group? I didn't know there was a FB group other than the official Boot Camp one.
As for the Army boot - they have a photographer who is at camp daily taking pictures and posts them to a website that parents can go too. You can find your soldier and download the pictures and then post them however you like. The boys friend's Mom (did you follow that? LOL) posts lots of pictures of her son on FB. He left about a month before our SR's did and they have Family Weekend this weekend, then graduation on 2 November. I understand the need to keep the training secretive (especially the SpecOps guys) but it sure would be nice to be able to view pictures everyday of what they are doing.
Anyone familiar with Chicago and can give me ideas on what (inexpensive) things we should do while we are there?
The week they go in is considered Pweek and does not count as their 8 wks of BC training. They are in week 5.
week 5 - that's my calculation too. my boy got to GL on 8/14 and he said they had 9 p-days. holy cow!!! Almost there gang!!! We will be @ PIR before you know it. I still have to shop for my new outfit. I don't think jeans and cowboy boots is proper attire for the ceremony, but it is for the remainder of the visit. Need to dress almost Sunday best for the ceremony. :)
22 days...
Today is letter day...Has anyone checked their mail box??? I get off at 5 so I have to sit in this office all day thinking about my mail..LOL..
I wish!!! still @ work too....I am in a hurry to get home on Thursdays...LOL!
Thanks girl! about 4 more hours to go for me. fingers crossed. ;)
ARG!! So bummed :-( No letter for me either. Maybe tomorrow??? My fingers crossed for everyone else though.
UGH!! Now I don't even want to go home..I will check my box anyway ust in case But If not today maybe tomorrow..
But we need to remember they are probably working harder then the rest and didnt have time to write. You know the whole 800 thing and all..lol..
