I appear to be the first parent with a child in this division. I look forward to connecting with others in this division.  My son's name is Stephen and he is from Phoenix, AZ

Leaving tomorrow for a trip to Chicago for one of my son's wedding. Will try to stay in the loop but the print in the Blackberry (especially the new one) is a bit small for lots of reading. Oh,is my age showing? ooops. Welcome new members if I have not greeted you personally.
Hey Sandy, Have a great trip. Have you heard anything from your son? I haven't received any letters or calls other than that very first one. Just wondering how the division is doing.
I checked the mail box with great anticipation this morning (Wed) but no letter from Jonathan. I have received only one letter since he left. I got a short call -- my guess 2 mins before he was waved off -- and I was relieved to hear that he is doing well physically and ok mentally and emotionally. Misses family -- and food "from the outside" LOL. He said someting about a big test coming up but no details. He did say that his division had lost a phone privilege so you are not being ignored, I just don't think they are getting as many opportunities as some divisions. My husband says it takes a while for some groups to get that teamwork thing going and until that happens, well life can be missing a few perks. I felt so much better after talking to him as I could tell from his voice that he is doing well. I am no longer worried -- that feels good.
I finally got a letter today and he explained that he missed his 30 minute phone call because he was SIQ (sick in quarters) from having all 4 wisdom teeth pulled. He is part of the leadership team for the division and is in charge of the laundry. I think the big test was the DEP and if they passed they get upgraded to E-2 at least mine took it and that's what's happening for him. Like you I feel much better and since the only complaint was missing his phone call due to the teeth being pulled I must assume he is doing well and yes that is quite the relief.. I am walking on a cloud. I am so sad that your son is going to miss his brother's wedding though, That must be tough.
Hello all, just joined today. My stepdaughter left August 23. We have got a couple of letters from her. She is doing much better now then when we first heard from her. She did make squad leader of her group. We've been getting our letters on a Thursday or Friday so hoping to get one this week! Glad to share with you all and we are from Massachusetts!!
Welcome Tammy, my daughter is also on Ship 12, Div 345. I am hoping for a letter today and I hope you get one too. Congrats on her being squad leader.
Thank you! I forgot to add her name is Amy Kelley. What is your daughters name? Maybe we can add each others daughters names to our next letters out and it will make their world seem not so distant from the rest of us!
Her name is Krista. I just mailed her a letter and I told her you had joined and told her that your daughter was a squad leader and was from Massachusetts and if she knew her. I hope she does, like you said it would make their world not seem so distant. I hope your daughter is doing well and it sounds like she is, with her being squad leader. Are you going to PRI?
Hi, I just did the same. I am adding Krista's name to my letter I am writing too. We got a letter tonight, hope you did too! Husband and I are definetly going to PIR. I figure we will leave MA Thursday. It looks like a group may be getting together at some point. I have no idea how long we are staying. I'd have the tix and arrangements done by now if I did. I would add you as a friend on here but no idea how. Also, are you on Facebook?
I am not finding you on Facebook. My email is telley59@verizon.net. Tammy Kelley
I think I found you and sent you a friend request on Facebook.
