OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi everyone. An email from a mom whose son is leaving for BC brought me back to the site this morning! Figured while I was here, I'd check in and see how everyone is? I'm good, as you can see by my name I am now a JNM. That's been a hard road. I'd give anything to see my son right now!! Hope everyone, as well as their sailors are well!!

Cami-Chris'Mum my son will be coming home for Christmas too!!! He made his own flight plans. There is personel there on base that assist him too! He is not finished with A-School yet so he will be going back to A-School after his leave...school is on shut-down during the Holidays so he gets 2 weeks home!! :) He plans on getting a rental car from airport since I am unable to pick him up from airport. :( My son has a I-phone so he can access his reservations from his phone. I haven't been on here in a while myself!! And its been a month since you posted this! I hope this helps! And I hope he was able to make his flight plans as well!! There is usually taxi/cabs on base that can take him to airport or he can call for one! Enjoy your Sailor!!!!!!! <3 I know I will!!!! <3

OK Moms! I haven't been on here in a while. Now that my Sailor has his phone, I don't feel so lost. LOL

But now...he is soon approaching a leave from A school @ Fort Lee, VA...and I am feeling quite lost again. I know nothing about this base other than it is an Army base instead of a Navy base...and it is 12+ hrs from home!!

He has asked me to make travel arrangements for him to come home @ Christmas, but where do I start? OK...I have made flight reservations before for myself...but not for a Sailor!! And except with us or the Navy...he has NEVER flown by himself. OMG...how will he handle a layover? How do I know he will have transportation to the airport. The closest one is in Richmond, VA...nearly 1 hr from base. Can I make military reservations for him...or is that something he has to do on his own anyway? He has never made a flight reservation in his life!! He has a computer, internet access, but no printer. Are there places they can go on base to help them make their own reservations? The questions just go on...and on...and on!!

Does anyone from 341 happen to have any pics of the graduation that they wouldn't mind sharing?  I'm so grateful to Paolo's mom for taking a pics of my nephew.  If anyone else has some of the graduation I would be most grateful!

Yes the ceremony was beautiful as well as my new sailor daughter in her uniform. Very proud mama I am. My dad was also not able to get in =( but we did spend a nice time with my daughter. She left to Midway Sat midnight, we met her there and gave her her stuff. Thank You to all on this site especially the veteran moms!!!!! May God bless all of you ladies and families!

To all the veteran moms and to everyone...Thank you so much for all your support. PIR was amazing, just wished we were able to spend more time with her.  Take care and have a good day.
