No, The Keel (yearbook) is included in Pkg A if the sailor ordered it.  You have to order the PIR DVD separately.  Here is the phone number if you need to order it:

847-578-6205

I believe it is $29.  Will be mailed to you in a few weeks.

I see the one that is Mine (for Res)

I’m finally here, sitting, waiting…… breathe!  Watching every face,  How can so much anticipation be contained in just one place,

Uniforms all around, Flags hanging with such pride, shoulders back, hands salute, looking eye to eye

The music gets louder and the doors rise up, my heart skips a beat, I look at each face, searching for those eyes, as warm tears down my face streak.

At first I don’t see, they all blend together, but I search each face in every line. Then in a moment I cannot possibly describe……. I see the one that is mine

Such love fills my heart, blended with pride and longing, you see I have missed that face for a while.  I wonder if he’s changed, if he’ll seem different to me after this 8 week trial.

I think of his papaw, how proud he would be.  Oh, I wish that he could be here, to see what I see, this tall man in uniform that I can’t believe is finally so near.

As I stare at him I think of this path he has chosen, of the people he’ll meet and the places he’ll go, of the man he is becoming.  There are things that cause me fear for him both physical and spiritual, God please be with him wherever he is going.

My prayers all his life, to walk with God, to seek his face and to grow, for God to bless and protect him and always be with him are flowing from me at this time,  Then a peace and calm come over me as I hear God gently saying,…….. It’s o.k. I see the one that is MINE!

See you later By Amy Hernandez

Huge hugs, lots of pictures, 2 meals at Mcdonalds, minutes are ticking by,

Can’t think about the clock, or I for sure would start to cry.

Time for the airport, tons of young men in khakis, with duffles and backpacks,

Waiting to go to where their next phase of life is at.

I just listen to him talk, loving that familiar laugh and the expressions on his face,

Why do the clocks run so fast in this place???

Rylee, Reagan, Rosi, Rustin all wanting time with their brother,

Seeing them all 5 together again such a JOY for this mother.

He looks at the clock, stands, begins grabbing bags…….NO!

Has the time already ended, Can it be time for him to go???

More Hugs & kisses, a prayer together and ‘I love you’s’ ..…so many!

The pain of watching him walk away cannot be compared to any.

1 last wave, be brave, straight face, I have to try,

He told me it’s harder for him when I cry.

This part at the airport, so wonderful, so hard, tears can’t flow!

NO goodbyes!  Just say, ‘See you later’ as I watch him go!

I love you Res!

We only had 2 extra guests and they were not allowed in. They were told they would be allowed to enter the drill hall after the ceremony ended and because the standby room was full, they were escorted to the NEX. It was a great ceremony , what I actually remember . I watched my sailor the entire time . He will remain in GL for A school . He is on hold until Nov 5 though, then will start A school. He will go to San Diego after first of the year to finish up A school and then will start C school. Congrats to all the new sailors/families . Good luck on your future endeavors.

That's good news, Jason'sMom.  I will let the next group know.

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on October 20, 2012 at 3:07pm

I think the rule change may have been just for the large PIR...14 divisions.

Comment by Jason's Mom (Ship14 Div343) on October 20, 2012 at 1:50pm
Ecrmom, we had 7 adults in our group and they never even asked us out names or how many. Just our SR's name and division. Stamped our hands, gave us out programs and told us to enjoy the ceremony. Everyone else in line around us had the same experience. Some had even larger groups than ours and had no problems.
Comment by diannep on October 20, 2012 at 10:27am

Oh my, ecrmom!  Really?  I know they said no extras would be allowed in for the 10/12 group because there were 14 divisions.  But didn't know that was a "rule" change.  Wow.  I will tell others in the next group to call the PAO beforehand to make sure.  That is not fair since there is plenty of room there for 7 divisions.  It is all up to the space available in PIR Hall.  Thanks for passing that on!
