Sorry I couldn't get back...Hubby came home!
The ship and division should be correct (it can change but...). I would recommend waiting for the form letter just to be sure.
When the recruits are moved to their ship from processing, it can take up to two weeks before mail is delivered to them. Each division has a recruit that is in charge of the mail and they must be trained before mail is delivered. Their first mail call is generally on the second Sunday after they have been moved. After that mail is delivered Mon-Fri.
Should be:
SR Last name, First name, MI
Ship 14 Div 344
3410 Sailor Drive
Great Lakes, IL 60088-3510
Thanks Ellen! I will just wait for the "form letter" to come! Do you think that the ship and div are correct?
Ship 14 USS Arizona Div 344
3420 Sailor Drive
Great Lakes, IL 60088
Can you post the address that the recruiter gave you (without your SR's name please).
The Form Letter arrives seperately via USPS.
My son's recruiter told me the address and I haven't received the letter yet. I went on the navy boot camp website and the address vs. the ship and div does not match. My son got to boot camp on 8/23. The box came Wed, when should I get the form letter to know for sure his address, or was it suppose to be in the box? Thanks!
Thanks so much dband, You are super sweet :-)
The number of bootcamp days can be so different for the recruits. It has so much to do with when you arrive. If you are are part of the first or second division who arrives you could be there a full week longer than recruits in the last couple of divisions to arrive and you all have PIR the same day. But P-days don't count as training days. Most recruits are there a total 8 weeks with P-days and training days. Some are there close to 9 and some only 7. I hope that makes sense ;-)
Lala Ribbon Queen..I LOVE your webpage and will be ordering from you for my son's PIR!!! Love Love Love the Ribbons!!
