~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

jennifer:  Check out the 2 bdrm 2 bth suites at Residence Inn.  Each bedroom has a queen bed and there is a pullout sofa in the living room.  We stayed there, roomy and nice.  See if they still have the Navy Graduation rate available.  We used our AAA rate....about the same discount.

I just checked a suite hotel and their rate is $80.99 for a room that fits maximum 5 people including children~~

Comment by CatMom509 on September 8, 2014 at 3:25pm

jennifer,

Most hotels don't allow more than 4 per room, maybe 5 on a roll away bed.  But yea, 6 is too many for a regular room.  $66/$71 for a room there is one of the best deals for a good hotel.  You don't want to go really lower then end up in a bad area in an iffy hotel.  Are you sure having 1 adult in each room with 2 kids wouldn't work?  It would be $132 or $142 per day, but this is for 2 rooms.  Free breakfast, free shuttle to and from PIR, plus a shopping pass for the NEX on their premises without needing your Sailor there with you to pay for the items!  If your future Sailor is flying out to A school, you only need the room for 2 days--Thursday and Friday (check out Saturday morning).
