Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Ok ladies any input recommendations etc would be welcome, just tried to make reservations at the navy lodge, was honest said there would be myself husband and 4 minor children, they won't allow me one room, I'm not splitting us up and can't afford 2 rooms. Where do i go that is still apart of everything that will live stream graduation fir those that aren't going to see still affordable etc.

Irishmama: This is very common this early in Bootcamp. It is hard on the ones who are being very serious and getting down to business being around the ones who take a little longer to adjust. But no worries....they all get there eventually! Just tell your daughter to try and be patient and encouraging....and persistent in her MA job. Not an easy job for sure. Hopefully the next news you get will be much better!

My daughter also called on Saturday. She cried the entire time, said she was not sleeping, homesick, and was made MA, that no one was listening to her so she is getting yelled at all the time! I had cried all weekend for her! She is one ship 3 div 336... Those of you who have kids there please encourage teamwork!!

Hey Ben's mom - My son is also Ship 3, Div 336. He called me 6am Saturday (West Coast). Only call prior to that was the "I'm here" call.

Welcome to the group, Ben'sMom! Just remember that the calls are so very random. They can be scheduled, but lose them, and they can also earn calls. So keep the phone close at all times! Sometimes on the weekends, they may call very early in the morning so just have your phone on and close!

Ben's Mom,
My daughter is in Ship 3 Div 336 and she did not call the first Saturday, but called yesterday and said they should be able to call every two weeks for 5 minutes unless they lose the privilege. Guys may be a little different.
