Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 403 and 404
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Hello All! My son is div 403. We are from Jax, FL and he will be doing A school in Pensacola, FL for AV (aviation elctronics technician). Looking forward to getting to know you and being able to share notes, encourage and support each other!! :)
Do you know if he is friends with Michael (mike) & Dale from NJ
Hello, My son is in Div 404. We are from NJ, and he too will be going to A school in Pensacola. I already have a CTR in the Navy. This son will be an AM ( Aviation Structural Mechanic ). His girlfriend lives with us, and is missing him badly. We can't wait for October 25th. Driving this time...airfare too high. My son mentioned making a friend from FL. Another SR from our neighborhood left with my son, so they are together at boot camp. They are doing well. This site is a great support system. I checked it out with my first sailor, but never wrote anything. So, I am looking forward to reading more this time around.
Hi, im Tammy & our sons left together lol. I met your son at the hotel. I am so glad they went the same time. Cant wait to see them!
Dale & my son , Michael left together. Michael is also Ship 13 div 404.
Hi, I wasn't sure if Mike was in Dale's div. He was here a couple of times before they would go to the station. They are also both going to Pensacola for school. Are you going to graduation? We are driving this time, airfare too high. Staying at the Marriott, last time we stayed at Waukegan Ramada. How is Mike doing?
Seems they are. Mikes hanging in there lol. Hes nervous about his test today. Im praying he passed! He's ready for Florida lol. We are also driving to graduation. Im not sure where we are staying yet. We are going to leave on Wednesday & stay over night at my in laws (they are about 40 miles from Pittsburgh) , at least it will give us a break mid-way. I have a picture of Mike & Dale from the hotel. I wanted to get a before & after. How is Dale making out?
Hello Navy Moms, My son Nathan is div. 403. We are from the Chicago area. My son will be doing his training in Groton, CT for submarine electronics and computers. My son is doing well. He says he has met many nice SRs and is a line leader which he says is awesome. Does anyone know what day/time after graduation that their son/daughter leaves for A school? Do parents get to take their son/daughter to O'hare airport or does the Navy transport? Looking forward to sharing information with all of you.
Hello, My son Dale is in the 404. My older son has been in the Navy for almost 4 years. When we went to his graduation we flew into Midway. We stayed at the Ramada Waukegan, but this time we will stay at Marriott 3 miles away. We are driving this time, and our other sailor should be with us if leave is approved. My other son was in an Honor Division and didn't even take part in the actual graduation, he worked it.After graduation we left the great hall within 20 to 25 mins. He did a few things then we went to NEX to buy a black backpack for his flight, which he said he needed. He was very tired as his group had done BS 21 a couple of days before. We went to eat, then spent time at the hotel. We had him until 7:30, he just wanted to walk around mall then rest with us.It was snowing lightly, and he had spent one of the 3 worst winters in Chicago there at bootcamp. He wanted to get back to base to pack.We gave him his IPOD and his cell. He called us on his way to O'Hare at 4 or 5 am, so we headed out shortly thereafter. We met him at O'Hare at the USO.I love the USO. We stayed with him until his flight at noon to FL for A school. Once he was settled at A school, I shipped him some summer clothes, etc. He bought a new laptop an an Xbox while there. I hope my long reply helps some. We didn't know he would leave so soon, so we had another day in hotel before we flew out. That I didn't like because I knew he was not even there anymore. A school was better because we Skyped and talked on phone.
Thanks for the info, lilirishladymomma! That does help a lot! Good to hear specifics from someone who actually went through the whole ordeal. I know every SR/rate/situation may be different but that gives me a good idea! :)
No problem, I'm sure there will be some differences. If I see this son more than my other sailor I will be happy. At least I'm prepared this time though. Just thankful to be there.
