WELCOME TO PIR 10/26/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi Totopogo.. I did call his recruiter and he said not to worry..no news was good news. He said if there was a problem we would know right away. I just want to make travel plans. I also can't wait for a letter from him too

Hi Adzac, although I have no experience to draw on, I am sure that everything is fine; I am going with the theory that no news is good news, but I can certainly understand your concern; perhaps you can contact the recruiter and see if he/she can offer some assistance?

another day without a letter...on the upside another day closer to PIR

Comment by Soccer Mom of 3 on September 13, 2012 at 9:38pm

We received letters today, one for each of us in our family and my sister just called to say she received one also. My Daughter said they are getting sleep from 2200 to 0600 and that the food was good. She said there were 80 female in a compartment and they were 17-39 years old. My daughter did ask for small photos, so we will be sending them in the next couples of days. She also said they were having there first baseline PFA on Tuesday. Glad to hear others got there loved one's letter also.

Hi Adzac, my son is in the same division as your recruit, and we received the form letter last week.  However, we have not received a personal letter yet. Anxiously checking the mailbox everyday of course!

CHall...if you are speaking of their Navy headshot/division photographs...they can pay for them and give them to you at PIR....or pay for them and mail them to you....or not pay for them and you can pay/pick them up at the NEX after PIR.

Comment by ZeeKittiKat Ship2Div950 on September 13, 2012 at 7:55pm

So when were their PIR pictures that they take in week 3 become available to buy?? do you have to wait till PIR??
