Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

No letters..... Just some ad for the US postal service and a debit card........ my mailman comes as late as 1730 some days so I am hoping that my roommate just didnt get the mail yesterday (she is at work) and the mail in the mailbox was from yesterday. Unfortunately our house doesnt get mail pick up, just drop off. So I have to drive to the postoffice EVERY day to send Joe his letter, otherwise I would know by my letters no longer being in the mailbox. Thank you for asking!! How about you? I wrote to joe about Dillon in the letter I am dropping off today.

Mrs. Cindy. No you dont make him sound weak at all. He just sounds like a family man. Joe (my SR/boyfriend) told me to make sure to tell MY sister to write too b/c he misses her and just seeing someones handwriting helps you to hear the person's voice (he told me this in his phone call on 9/27)............I hope Joe meets Dillon and they become friends. I have no idea how big the DIV is? Here in TX people seem to be naturally drawn to him and he has become a mentor to many guys of varying ages. Right before he left, his relationship with God got a lot stronger and he was appointed Chaplain Petty Officer at BC and for the most part he has been amazingly upbeat and he has just really "blossomed" (for lack of a better word) up there.
In his first letter to me he wrote that the day before (a week in) was the worst day of his life so far because he hadnt had any contact with us in a week and hadnt been outside in 5 days. He also needs to hear & be reminded that we think of him often, that we are PRAYING DILIGENTLY for him (not only for their success but strength along the way), AND most importantly he asked that I write "I LOVE YOU" one time at the very LEAST in every letter.
I have also been told and I feel that it helps to include fond memories of times spent together, so that when they sit down to read that precious letter, they can have just a moment to relax and reminisce. Something to bring a smile to his face. Also, encourage your entire family and friends to write him. The SRs need to hear their name at mail call. Joe wrote in one letter that it seems the day he NEEDS a letter the most, there isnt one to be found (we had an address mixup in the beginning and then i was going through a really busy patch, but no excuses should be made). So if multiple people are writing all days should be covered.
Sometimes funny jokes help, especially those they can share....helps make friends.. (my brother [division 820/ PIR Sep 24] enjoyed them). -

Dillonsmom- I felt the same way last week when my son called. He talked to his sister and sounded like he was at the end of his rope. I was worried that he couldn't handle the stress but was assured by my husband (he was navy waaaayyyy long time ago) that it is part of the process at bc. It helped a little but I wasn't convinced. Today I got a letter and my son started the letter telling us to ignore the last letter and phone call. He said he had been feeling really stressed and now it was much better. I am hoping that your son just hit that point a little later than my son. I'm crossing my fingers that next week you get a letter like I got today. (hugs)

:) I am the 2nd oldest of 7 and I know that it doesnt come close to a mother's love for her children but I have had a glimpse of what you are talking about. Let me know when you get a letter and I will do the same. :)

Hi everyone,
John's parents back to make a comment. Each child is a little different. When our oldest went away to school he was so home sick he called every night and he begged us to let us come home. We didn't and after he got some friends he was fine. Now we can't squeeze a letter out of John and we are following thanks to Josh and others. The best thing we can do for Dillion is to encourage our S/Rs to take him into the group. If they do, I think that will help a lot. What is Dillion going into? Are there others that are going to do the same thing. It seems that this is helping some of them.

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd stop and "check in!" Ha! Hope your weekend has been good so far and the goodness continues on through the week to follow! 20 days from TODAY! Keep your eyes on the prize and don't give up on them (I know you won't)! I'm keeping each and every one (Including all of you ladies!) in my prayers for strength, peace and courage. No phone calls means they've made it through one more day ... the important one comes right after Battlestations, anyway!
I'm looking forward to next Thursday. It seems to be the day of the week when we receive letters from Josh!

I yeah!! I forgot about that... I told Joe in my letter, but then I guess I just forgot it would affect me too.. Thanks for looking out for me. It WILL be pushed back a day, my brothers would arrive on thursdays too and the week of labor day we got it on friday. Thankfully i will be home on Friday (I usually have clinicals on Fridays so I am gone Thursday evening through Saturday afternoon) :)

I have not heard anything since my letter on Friday... someone posted about guys possibly getting calls today, but it was a mom from a 900 division so Im not sure if it applies us too... :/
