hahahaha...wow, that was quite a phone call.  Let us know what the tattoo is , if you can,  lol.   Yeah, missing him big time.  So far away growing up on his own.  UGH.  It'll be a year before I see him again.  Christmas can't come soon enough..and it's still winter....yuck..

How great is that Cheryllynn!  oh warm there wish i were too.   Is it the month or time of year or what i'm missing my son tons right now and he was just home for Christmas.  So much happening for him after he went back after leave.  Ok the phone call last night was lots of this and that and ended with "I'm getting a tattoo" and t hen love ya got to go.   didn't even get to say make sure the needles are new in the package.  Can't wait to see what he ends up with.  Any suprises for you from your Sailors?

Yay, my sailor has finally made it to Diego Garcia!!  He says it is truly amazing there.  Says he will get a camera so we can see.  Cannot wait.  So happy that he likes it.  A warm 82 degrees today there.  We're getting more snow.

Dunesmom-  {{{Hug}}} So sorry for the disappointment..hoping for the best for him.

It is hard having them away and not hearing much.  Every word is like gold.

Bonniemae-Good luck with the move.  So happy for you.

I think it is hard when they are just waiting around doing the odd jobs.  Mine hated that in Norfolk.   It was Hurry up and wait.

BonnieMae~ Good luck with the move!  It will be wonderful for you to be a family again!

Dunesmom~ Don't worry, I am certainly slow on the uptake with all of the lingo.  I am glad to hear another mother with a closed mouth son!  I have to grab at any bit of information my sailor throws my way.  I still love him though!  and am really missing him!

Have a wonderful day also!  The sun is shinning here in Maryland with a high of 20 degrees!

Yea BonnieMae so happy for you to be back together!  Oh ProudMomS shoveling i feel his pain, really my back is killing me from that shoveling...  and as far as i can understand, which is not very well i might add.. AWV and AWO are both Aircrew but the V  works on Electric/electronics and the O is Operators, like watching the pings on the screen.  My Sailor will be on the P3 Orion looking for enemy subs.  Again if i understand right.  All the letters make my head spin most days as i'm slow to learn things and son is very closed mouth.  Ok Ladies have a wonderful day!  Keep um in your thoughts!

Kate~He still has not started BESS.  He is up there shovelling snow. :)  Apparently there are no girls up there, so when you visit, you may get the royal treatment!

Dunesmom~ what are AWV's and AWO's?
Comment by Dunesmom on January 22, 2011 at 10:18am
Kate, understand a  bit about the missing thing.  My son and the rest in his group were told that all AWV's would now be AWO's as they need the AWO's right now.  He is rethinking his future plans and will be just fine.  Gotta roll with the tide.  and what is BESS?  Thanks ProudMomS yep it's a learning journey for all of us.  Good days and better days ahead.

Dunesmom-sorry to hear he did not get the job he signed up for.  It will all work out in the end.

Kate-The Steve's must be enjoying shovelling.  I think they have been doing a little bit the past few days.  Mine is on hold also until BESS begins.

Comment by Dunesmom on January 21, 2011 at 9:34am

Wow they are moving right along.  So good to hear that things are going good for them.  Now how are you holding up?

Me i had a rough day yesterday feeling bad that my son didn't get the job he was signed for  and missing him.  Glad they are all in a good place right now.

Take care
