Hi all, I have miss chatting with everyone here, hope everyone is doing fine.
-Kate wow, you are brave. hope you are doing better today.
-Proudmons, so sorry your sailor will not be home for the holiday.
Pollyanna, sounds like your sons are doing really good, how are you doing?
-My sailor arrived at Grandparents yesterday, I cannot wait to see him this Friday, we did not get much time together at PIR as he was a grad and go so I am looking forward to spending time together. I so glad for facebook and cell phone to be able to keep in touch. I wish I was there though on Thursday when he graduated from his Aircrew class, so when he go back in Jan he will be in a different part of the base with new rack mate etc, as the two from his old divison at Gretalkes who has been his rakckmates in pensacola also did not class up with him this time. He is adapting well with changes and Navy life. my mom said he is so gentlemanly in his manners is a totally different man from the kid that we know. I can hardly wait to see this new kid.
I picked up three at the airport Friday: my Sailor -- home from Great Lakes -- and two of his sisters, both in from Florida. We have all been having a wonderful time. He stays until the 29th, but the girls leave on the 25th. And for Christmas Eve, all of six of us, including my youngest daughter ( a junior in highschool who I am blessed with all of the time) and my eldest son (who works in southern Arkansas and I only see a couple of times a month) will ALL be home at the same time. Wow... what a miracle. Hoping Santa is in every way possible smiling on all of you, too... (((hugs)))
Getting ready to leave to go pick my daughter up at the airport. I am so excited that I get to spend 15 days with her. Hope everyone has a great holiday with their sailors.
thanks everyone, not sure what barracks he is in....
oh my goodness Musicmom what a way to start the leave hu? You'll be watching over your shoulder all day i bet.
so sorry to hear your sailor will not be makeing leave this time, but just think about next time and keep writting letters ProudMomS.
Don't be over doing it with those fresh out wisdom teeth Kate.
PollyAna i so understand about the little bit of quality time, I know we will always take what we can get with our Sailors.
for those of you who get to see your sailors, enjoy!
Safty to all and Happy Holidays!
My brother is at my parents... Joe will be in Houston in 8 hours.. So excited to see my sweetie and my brother. Merry Christmas Everyone.. In the new year, you all will have to get on and let us know what you did with your sailor during their stay!! :) Love yall.
I am soooo bumbed. My sailor will be staying in Meridian over the holiday. He said that because of his sub school to follow, he won't be able to take leave. Christmas just won't be the same without him.
Kate - hope you're feeling better. congrats on the B!
We had 2 snow days (yesterday and today). I love having the time to get caught up but now I'm starting to worry about having to make up days if we use too many snow days this year. Yesterday I totally got why no school because it was going to be really slick on the roads when the snow started at around 10:00 am. Not enough time for early dismissal turn around. However, today seemed like a 2 hour late start day. I went out about 9:30 and the roads were just wet.
I'm officially on sailor watch as of tomorrow morning. My son won't tell us exactly when he's coming home just that it's on the train and it will be by end of day Monday. He wants to surprise us. lol
Welcome Dunes Mom.. You say your son is in Pensacola? My fiance is there too. What barracks does your son live in?
Hey everyone! Nice to see everyone is doing good! Congrats on the B in stats Kate!!! I know how hard that class is!!! My husband gets to come home tomorrow for 16 days, how exciting that will be for my daughter who has been driving me nuts. haha
I hope everyone has a great holiday and blessed New Years!!!
We got Joshua's Keel book! Of course most of the basic pictures are from prior PIR groups (It wasn't hard to guess on that one with Sailors in their Navy WHITES!). I think they must only change the division pictures.
Josh has some tests today, then they are on Stand-Down until January 3. More testing on that day and then graduation on January 7.
