Good morning everyone, our group is growing and that is good. I just wanted to mention that you may want to send another phone card to your SR. Most calling cards use 35 min on the card for every call made from a pay phone. So that means if you don't answer and they call another number they just used 70 min not including the amont of time they talked to you and if they call other parent and g/f b/f other friends they will use up a 300 min card very quickly. You want to make sure the have plenty of min left for the call after battle stations. They can call collect if they are out of min but many cell providers do not allow collect calls. And those that do are very expensive. My daughter called collect from BC and it was 9 bucks for a 10 min call. Of course I wanted to talk to her so bad that I would have paid 90 lol.

I am pretty sure they can call another number, my friends daughter graduated BC in the Spring and she was able to call the house and her cell phone. She also had to have a phone card, which she was able to get at some sort of store on base but I sent the girls with one just in case and probably should send another one. My friends daughter called home a lot more than our recruits are. I think she heard from her weekly. Just goes to show you that every BC experience is different!

Starting today, the phone is attached to me! I hope they give them a chance to call another number if there is no answer at the first!

I know! I am hopeful that they all did well. It has been over 4 weeks now and I am hoping they will be able to call.

Ship 02 Div 949 I'm a mother of twin girls and I got letters from both of them today! They sound good and they hope they all do well on their test they took Wednesday so they can get privileges to call home hopefully Friday! They left 8/24/10 so I am so excited to hear from them - I will be attached to the phone just in case they can call!

Hi everyone, I have been out all day shopping for ribbon supplies and I found some really cool Navy Scrapbook stuff at Hobby Lobby. My sailor has some letters waiting on her from her fiancee, He is in div 353. Now for the really GREAT news: My sailor is coming home tomorrow YAY.... My mom, her grandma hasn't seen her since May 23rd. We haven't told her that she is coming home. My dad is going to take her out to eat for a "family" dinner and we will meet them there and once we all sit down (our sailor) will walk to our table in her dress whites... I can't wait to see my moms face :) And I especially can't wait to have my sailor home for 10 days!!!!!!!! I may not be on here as much for a couple of days but don't worry I will be back and will be checking for ribbon orders and friend requests daily. :)
