good evening all. i love this poem, so i thought i'd share :)
A short poem for sailors By Charles D. Williams

Sailors pray,
For fair winds and a following sea

The smell of salt in the air,
The feel of their skin as it's touched by the spray

An albatross soaring above,
Dolphins in the ship's wake at play

To witness a work of art that only God can create,
The sunset at the end of day

At night a million stars in the sky,
Safe anchorage in an islands lee

When the time comes to die as for all it must,
To awake in Sailors Heaven where nothing ever rusts

And always there would be,
Fair winds and a following sea

OMG, my son's room was such a mess! the only good thing about his leaving was that now I can get in there and clean. ;)

I am wondering: Am I the only one whose son/daughter left their room a disaster?

Hi Justin's mom. I hope you get a letter soon! I have only gotten the form letter with four lines written by him--but it helped so much. Also, did you see the links to youtube videos that I posted. They are videos about Navy bootcamp. It really helped me to be able to know what the environment he is in looks like and some of the things he may be doing. At least now when I close my eyes I have an idea of what his space looks like.

@ Sea-n-Melody...there are so many "ifs" and "it depends ons" but i was told that mt A school would be in VA but in week 3 of boot camp found out it was in Great Lakes. Just because his A school is out of the area doesnt mean is a gran and go either..everyone in my division left the tuesday following PIR regardless of A school location. If he is a grad 'n' go though, you will probably know early on... its one of those things that if you dont hear about it or he doesnt mention it, its not the case
