y boyfriend's mom and I are trying to plan airline tickets, but not sure how long to stay there. I am pretty sure he is not going to be in GL for A-school b/c when he first signed up, they said he would have A-school elsewhere. Does this mean he is a Grad-and-Go? Does anyone know how long it takes to find out if he is a Grad and Go and how much time we will be able to spend with him?

Hi Brei, I find myself also going into my sons room, it comforts me some on the days I feel like I'm about to break down. I dream about him and think about him often, don't get much sleep. I haven't got a letter yet from him. Miss hearing his voice so much!

Good Morning everyone, I hope everyone had a great week. Happy Friday. I had to have my car towed from the interstate yesterday. New radiator today "OUCH!!!" Last month it was a new rear end for our truck while we were in FL for Vacation. I am def tired of repair bills.

My daughter is now a part of this group, her fiancee is in div 353, and she was in the choir in div 936 and had PIR 7-23. I am sure she can answer lots of questions about boot camp. She is almost finished with A-school and will get to come home for a visit very soon. :)

I know Proudmom, it is so hard to not know how and what they are doing. I find myself just walking into my son's room alot. Sometimes I clean and sometimes I just stand there. It makes me a little sad, but I guess it makes me feel closer to him too.

Also, I found some youtube videos about Navy boot camp if anyone is interested. Although I know they are "cleaned up" versions of what they are going through, it still was helpful for me to see what the facility looks like and have an idea of some of the things my son is doing. Here are the links, but you have to copy and paste them into your browser. I don't know how to add hyperlinks on this site. What I tried didn't seem to work.

doing the Happy Dance.... I got TWO letters -- full of information - I sent her a questionnaire (she didn't actually USE the one I sent, but she did answer the questions. She still has her sense of humor -- she is a vegetarian and so eats a lot of cottage cheese!! She did say that the person passing out the letters like to "sail" the envelopes - and apparently my cards really sail.... But she said chasing them was not bad...
Off to write more letters... Happy Happy Joy Joy
Off to write another letter

Krissanna's Mom-Do they have assigned ironing time, and some are in the middle of the night? My son mentioned that he did not like folding and stowing. I'm surprised he did not mention ironing, because I know he does not like that either!
