They won't always take pics and also, not always of the same division(s).

IF you decide to sign up for this page, make sure you have your profile set to accept messages. They won't even acknowledge you if you don't! Also, make sure you don't have a lot of personal info listed for your Sailor. (I just recently joined and I believe I went through more screening than my son did when he joined the Navy! LOL)

Look forward, count the days and write lots of letters. My daughter said it was the only thing that got her through. I bought some blank note cards from the dollar tree, addressed them to her and placed a stamp on it. Then when I ran into people that we knew and they asked about her, I handed them the notecard and they were able to send it easily, and then she knew other people thought of her as well. I kept them in my purse, and gave them out everywhere.

Anyway I can help, just ask. . this site is what got me through without being in a straight jacket in a padded room. If I don't know the answer, I can find out.

Good Morning Ladies~
My daughter had her PIR on 9/2.. and there were 14 divisions graduating that day. We had 2 extra people for PIR and they were both let in. The 4 of us were allowed in right away, the other 2 were asked to wait in another building until everyone had arrived, then they were allowed in before it started. The 9/10 group said the extras were allowed in right fromt he start. The Navy wants everyone to be allowed in. I called Public Affairs and was told typically everyone gets in.

It is also not allowed to add names to other recruit's list that isn't full. Having said that, it still happens, but in my daughter's case, her Petty Officier was very strict on this point.

Good Luck. . Hang in there, I PROMISE it gets better.

Hello, I have a question about PIR and hope someone knows the answer. The letter I got initially said that only four people were allowed to attend the PIR. Unfortuneatly there are five of us and I don't know who to tell they cannot go. Is there anyway that they let them have more than four people attend?
