Hey Yall!!!

When mailing your kids stuff... just to let you know, I've just in the last two weeks started to mail Tiffany her stuff (purses, jeans, FOOD, etc..) I use the "Flat Rate Box" from the USPS.. the box is free and depending on size, it costs, like 5.00, then 10.00 and 14.00... I will mail her box on Monday afternoon and she gets it by Weds Am... if I mail to her on Weds Afternoon, she gets it by Friday AM... so it takes approx two days to get there, no special fees to pay, just the standard fee and it's there in two days! OH... it's going from Texas to Great Lakes, so I am assuming it would be about the same elsewhere!! :) :) OHHH and they don't hold it like they did in boot, her box got there today and she didn't make the early mail call, but is going tonight at the 9:00pm mail call to get her box (It has the Coach purse she bought at Gurnee Mall that she couldn't have that weekend!) :)

I am so happy to have this group to lean on during this process. I finally got a phone call from my Sailor this evening. It was frustrating because the connection was horrible and I could barely hear him. He gave me his address to FedEx his laptop and phone. He told me that he would call again once he got those. I guess maybe that is my incentive to get them out the door tomorrow! He sounded happy, but school does not start for him until next Wednesday. What will he do?

PollyAnna-Ah that is great that he gets to help move Red.
I would of thought they would of been able to call home unless they both went to medical. I am a bit nervous until I hear from them...

Just sent the kid's cell phone to her. Fed Ex had a special box and it will arrive tomorrow afternoon. Sent the computer (again in their special box) and he bag 'o stuff in another box... those will arrive on Tuesday. I have no idea what the mail situation is like at Great Lakes (they held it at boot camp - and they only got mail M-F). Hopefully she will call me tomorrow and I will know. It cost more than I expected, but at least she will have her stuff. *sigh*

Good to hear PollyAnna! I feel like I am at BC with no communication again. The girls said a lot of Sailors brought their cell phones back to BC with them so they could have them when they left for A school but they were told not to so the girls didn't afraid they get in trouble. They left Tuesday and I could not meet them at the airport, my oldest daughter had to be at work Tuesday. So I guess I wait until they call with an address-you think I'd be used to waiting by now! Haha I just hope they are feeling better.

Talked to Justin and he got in San Antonio yesterday afternoon. He said the base there is awesome and happy that they got to choose who they bunk with. So he got to choose two buddies that were there from DIV 353. He took his phone with him so we already talked with him twice. It's funny how all of them wanted to go get a phone first thing, that's what Justin did also. He said they have liberty everyday 4-9 and is so happy to have more freedom. We will probaly go see him in a few weeks since we live close:)

I agree with you all that PIR was amazing! I got to see the girls before PIR began, they were in the hall going towards the bathrooms and I got to give them a big kiss. I was afraid to hug them because they said they had to sign a paper that they wouldn't but I guess later they were told they could. They were sick most of the weekend, one was doing better but the other was still fighting a fever on Sunday. They landed in Gulfport and haven't heard anything since. I am waiting to get their address to send their cell phones and laptops.
I joined the Seabees group trying to get some information but there doesn't seem to be a wonderful supportive group for the Seabees like you all were here in this group. It was wonderful all the love and support shown here in our group, thank you for helping me get through the last 9 1/2 weeks. Congratulations to all your Sailors and good luck in the future, I am sure they all will be great Sailors!
