Funny story from my son. One of the new sailors from div 354 went into a MacDonalds' on Friday afternoon. Marched up to the counter, stood at attention and said(yelled) "Ma'am, I would like to order one quarterpounder with cheese meal, ma'am!" Freaked out the girl at the counter and the whole restaurant went silent.....lmao

We asked our son where he wanted to go to lunch after PIR. Figured he was craving something. His request was Wendy's. Wanted a chocolate frosty :) We put a picture on facebook of him at Wendy's with a disclaimer that we were NOT cheap parents....he actually wanted to go there for lunch. lol

We went to see RED on Saturday and walked around the mall. That thing was enormous! Mostly we just hung out in our hotel room so he could catch up on his anime and talk to friends. He took a few naps. Had a Lonnnngggg hot shower one afternoon.

Polly: that is so cute, i bet it was a site to watch that.. i believe my MIL did that as well. but i dont know once i got down the bleachers i didnt look back lol..

Andy_Dad: we saw you and Andy outside the theater on Saturday. we were going to see jackass but decided on saw instead.. :/

Sarahs Mom: you are quite lucky, we thought we woul have Chad all weekend but he is on hold for a school so we didnt but we were able to pick him up at 0600. He was able to take his new phone ( he bought at the mall) and laptop back the first night :) so ive been talking to him since which is great!

my favortite part of the weekend was probably naping with Chad and Kendra, we use to do that all the time so it was great, Kendra slept on her daddy's chest while i was in his arms.. it was amazing.lol..

Chad told us this hilarious story about Div 352 and how they had this eyebrow shaving incident.. i laughed so hard my eyes watered.. but all in all im glad that BC is over and he can now talk to me more often and i will see him for the holiday :) .

PIR was a great experience indeed!.I I got to spend Friday after graduation with Andy, his mom and her hubby. I had him all to myself on Saturday. I flew home Sunday morning. It was great for him to have a little freedom from BC. He burned up my cell phone and I had the laptop in the room at the navy lodge so he was on facebook the whole time. On Saturday we went to see jackass 3d at Gurnee Mills and had our favorite meal together SUSHI!. ( in Lousiana, it's called "bait" LOL) I found out that taking 94 was a whole lot faster than the back roads!

He was under the impression that he was going to wait 2 weeks at GL before he got shipped out to Pcola. SURPRISE! He left yesterday at half past way too early! I got a VM msg from him saying he would call last night but no call. I hope to hear from him soon. Ir was nice meeting some of you at the M&G and at PIR as well. Andy will be on CVN-69, USS Eisenhower in Norfolk, VA. That is only about an 8 hour drive for me so when he is not underway I can visit him anytime I an get away.

We couldn't get our sailor to go far at all. Just wanted to be close to base. Stayed at the room a lot where he was able to call friends and chat online. Sunday he took a long nap. The best part was just seeing him smile. His whole face lit up. He has changed so much and his dad and I would just look at him in awe. Bawled again tonight....
cheryl- sorry to hear about his dad. That must have been rough for him at such a time as this. Glad he made some close friends to help him get through it. I know my son made so really good friends. Hugs to you all.

I had my son Friday and Saturday and it was totally awesome. Just seeing him and hugging him were wonderful. He wanted to go to the Field Museum on Saturday, which we did - between him catching up with friends on his phone and laptop. He's in South Carolina and I'll be taking your advice about Fed Ex. I feel so much better just being able to talk to him and email him. He can't believe he has room and a little freedom now and is enjoying it. His dad died last January, so he's had a little trouble dealing with him not seeing him graduate. The friends he made in Great Lakes helped him tremendously.

We were fortunate enough to have Sarah for the entire weekend..and she was allowed to have her phone and laptop! We spent alot of time at the mall where she got a new phone; took care of her 'roots' lol and a french manicure! I was so impressed with her mannerisms..She really likes the Navy..she likes the structure..so I am happy for her! She's now at 'A' school across the street still in Great Lakes! Due to lack of sleep we did not get to visit much at M&G the only one we really got to talk to was Erics dad; and a brief wave to Charity.

Alli= When we mailed my sons computer from NH to TX last year we took it to FedEx. They knew just how to wrap it and ship it.
