Just got off the phone with her -- she can get her phone so I am sending it in the morning. Any advice about the best way to send phone and computer?? It will be going from California to IL ... She sounded happy and thinks they, too, may get weekend liberty... She does not have permission to wear civilian clothes yet, but I can send her sweats! she cracks me up.

Talked to my daughter today. She moved across the street to school today. Got her address and wants her phone. She says she loves all the freedom they have at school. Was getting ready to go get subway for supper. Also she told me that she will have weekend liberty now, where she can leave off of campus. I think that is pretty cool. She was so excited on the phone and was glad to be away from boot camp.

We left out on Sunday morning so we only had Friday and Saturday with her. on Friday we hung out at the hotel so she could get on her computer and take her long, private shower. Took her on Saturday to have her hair done and had pizza and Starbucks. Just having time with her was amazing. Now I will be able to talk to her a lot more and emails.

Yes I am having withdrawls all over again. Dropping her off on Saturday night was the hardest. After surviving boot camp I think we all can get throught A school.

It took my sailor a while to relax as he was determined to keep his military barrings! The lady at the reception desk told him he did not need to stand at attention in the Navy Lodge lobby. But, my favorite memory of the weekend is the big hug I got after graduation and watching him nap. On Sunday, I wanted to take him out to a special dinner, but he picked Chipotle!

Friday she kicked back in sweats... The Navy Lodge shower spit rather than ran - so she passed on the shower "alone, for an hour- if I like" . . .Saturday - downtown and the Navy Pier - Sunday pedicure and hair cuts! we became mall trolls.... enjoying the family - she didn't care what she did!

Congrats to all new Sailors and all who love them... PIR was phenomenal and our time together was amazing. I'm wondering, though, what was YOUR favorite 'thing to do' with your Sailor while on Liberty...???

Kate - I know my daughter LOVED having her droid for the weekend - hated that I had to take it back with me . . . today she is moving "across the street" where she will stay until sometime in February. Once she learns she can have her phone, I am sure I will get a call to mail it! I have not heard from her since Sunday evening.
