OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Just go to the website of whatever airline he's flying. There will be a spot to check on flight status. Just put in the flight number your looking for.

I checked flight delays at O'hare (bless Google) and there are delays now....

They usually have signs inside the airport telling you if a flight is delayed. But maybe call the airport?

omg, I have never flown before and I know nothing about checking on flight delays, does anyone know how to tell if flights leaving O'Hare and arriving in Asheville NC are delayed?

Unfortunately, it's a little late for us not to post Battlestations. Maybe they should post that on Navy for Moms website. I knew about that after they leave BC, but never thought about it now. Makes sense.

Comment by Pam - Corpsman Mom 11 minutes ago An alert from U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command came across facebook 2 hours ago. They are pleading with all not to give out any information on Battlestations - i.e. dates and times. This compromises the safety of our Recruits/Sailors. I would cut and paste it here, but I can only get Facebook on my home computer and I'm at work right now (where I can't get it.). If you have a Facebook account and have "liked" U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, please take a look at it. Maybe one of the other Members can paste what they have asked into a comment box here.
