Oh Lala -- that is so great that he will be able to be with his family, but sad under the circumstances. Hoping for the best for the family.

Ok Lala. I'm glad he can do that...and praying for healing...I couldn't imagine him being able to focus on bc with his sister in such critical condition. Prayers!

Well, scratch that last comment. Our SR is coming home to his sister. He is flying home today. He will have to go back and do battle stations and PIR later. Please keep praying that his sister makes it. My sailor is coming home as well but she will be driving.

Nalleywife2B will be flying in as well but her flight doesn't arrive until around 11pm Thursday night. Does anyone else arrive around this time?

I called the hotel and they do not have shuttle service but she gave me a couple numbers for taxi and limo service. She is flying in from Atlanta. she may not even get to see the girls PIR but so wanted to be there for them.

There used to be 'limosine' services available at airports, which were actually 12-person passanger vans that departed the airport on a regular schedule and made loops to different motels in the area... there was a fee for this, but the cost was much less than a taxi and the service was much more convenient than navigating a bus/train route... and it has been a (long) time since I traveled that way so don't know if such still exists.

I don't think the hotels have shuttle service to the airport. Taxi fare is pretty expensive. Some take a cab to the train station in Chicago, and then a cab from GL train station to their hotel. The carpool idea is a great one...hopefully someone can connect. Maybe someone can start a discussion up above about "carpooling to/from Ohare"....and let people post times they need rides and how many. OHare is about 25-30 minutes from GL.

Cheryl Ship - thanks it is for my cousin, my daughters Godmom, she will be landing around 4:00. I will check to see if our hotel has shuttle service for her. We will be driving by around 5 - 6 but not sure how far the airport is from I-90/I-94 and with traffic...ugh!
