Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I'm wondering if 823 will go last and they'll go with any recruits who possibly did not pass Battlestations the first time. I only say this because I read somewhere else on this site about a mom whose son did not get through it the 1st time, so she canceled her plans. Then he ended up going with another division the Thursday night before his PIR, passed, graduated, and she wasn't there. But, since my son's not going until Tuesday night, I'm going to only think positive thoughts!

I, too, didn't sleep -- tossed and turned most of the night and when I finally did get to sleep I awoke at 7 here which is 9 there -- I slept through the end! I can't believe it...

We need all we can get and please add all the other victims who were injured or lost a family member. There were 2 different accidents on the interstate here last night. They involved 2 tractor trailers, and a 9 car pile up. At least 3 people were killed. Please pray for them all.
