N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

For those of you going to Sarge's Meet & Greet, he has some directions also.  I'm going to use his as it sounds like he's used to getting in and out of there with little issue on a regular basis.

....HOWEVER, for those driving to PIR who don't want to wait in the car line....stay to the left on Buckley and bypass RTC (you will see the car line on your right).  Turn around at the train station right past RTC and head back from the opposite direction...easy no-wait left turn onto the base.  A lady just posted in last week's PIR group that it worked great for them!  No need to wait in that car line.....unless you just want to!

Thanks CatMom. I'm so used to looking at it I didnt think.I made one with the directions on it but it is blurry. It's a crop of a larger map that shows all of RTC. I'll have to rotate it next time.

Top of the map is West.

Bottom East

Right hand side North.

Left hand side South.

Gals,

Please note that this map is upside down.  See Buckley Road?  That's the main road you use from the tollway, Waukegan, and Lincolnshire.  You will be traveling down (top to bottom of the map) Buckley Road, then make that right into the Ohio Gate 8 entrance which leads to road with the 2 red dots.  Personnel or signs will direct you where to park~

Good Morning

Comment by diannep on October 25, 2015 at 8:11am

When we were up there over 5 yrs ago, we had no GPS and had no problem finding RTC.  Buckley, which is what it is on, is a main road.  We went by there the day before PIR, but elected to take the shuttle on PIR morning (had been advised by a friend to do that).   Had no issues with the shuttles if anyone is trying to decide if they should drive or take a shuttle!
Good Morning!
