Don't forget to check into your divisions daily in your discussion forums...you will be glad you did, because each division is a little bit different and you will find that it is fun to share info about your individual divisions...you might get information about when phone calls are coming (moms always knew less than the wives and girlfriends about these...lol), how they are doing on flags, PT etc. I am trying to figure out just exactly where you all are at....and I bet Lydia will tell me...but I know you are probably a week away at least from getting mail so I want to tell you a story.

When the first batch of letters came...many of them said something similar...like ....we are getting in a lot of trouble because some people can't keep their mouths shut, or they don't follow orders etc....and the moms all went ... whaaaaaat....and inside they went....oh dear Lord...please don't let that be my child....because heaven knows you don't want the troublemaker getting the division to do extra PT to be your child.

It soon became evident that nearly every recruit was the trouble maker at some point or another. In otherwards, the lovely, caretaking, RDCs who have nothing but the best interests of the recruits at heart, seem to find something about every recruit that "needs work". My son at one point committed the great crime of leaning the against the bulkhead and I said, well why did you do that...and he replied...it was a wall mom...oh I said. So when that first letter comes, don't worry! They all get in trouble, they all cause the division to get PT, it is called the Navy boot camp!! So relax, you recruit is no worse than any other!

Thanks, Lala. She asked that her mom send makeup for the pictures.

We sent them about 3 weeks before PIR. We sent it priority mail in a flat rat box and she had it within 3 days. But it important to know that they let them call and ask for these items to be sent, she also asked for them in a letter because she didn't know she would get a call. They know the rules very well and will not ask you to send something if they are not allowed. If they ask you to send it then send it. But I wouldn't send anything they have not asked for.
