Sugarscoop- you are correct, there are some who do not get a box. The recruits have the choice of sending the box with their clothes back home, donating the items to goodwill, or throwing them away. Many recruits who don't take phones with them wear clothes and shoes that they don't want so they can donate them and not have to pay for shipping the items back home. :-)

ericsmom: Scan the photos onto a sheet of paper, front and back. Or even on the back of your letter. It's better to send that way.

Question.... Is it ok to send photos, or will they get "grief" for that? Dont want to get him in trouble or embarass him.

JessicaB - good morning sunshine!!!!!! hey how do you get your words to be bold black? I see the B up there but I does not do it for me?

Sugarscoop - Its not that you cant it is that it causes more grief on them if they get special attention with a care packages... The RDCs just love to find ways to give it to these guys big time. My son begged me not too. One kid got a care pack with goodies and his RDC made him eat everything in the box right there in front of everyone until he was sick then made everyone PT -- remember they are trying to break the kid civilian out of them and make them soldiers. Do your son a favor and just send those wonderful letters! You will be able to get his cell and laptop too him after PIR.

Can you not send a box if you don't want to? My son wanted to throw the clothes away that he had on. He did not take his phone or anything. I thought it was funny but I did not know he could have taken his phone and used it up until the end. I would have loved to talk to him more for sure. So..I just wonder if I am just waiting for the letter.={
