I'm so sorry for your loss WI-Mom, I lost mine last year and it is tough. If I can help in any way please let me know.

Could use some prayers this week ladies. My mom passed away Thanksgiving day. Totally unexpected even though she was 79. The Red Cross was awesome. I called them in case my sailor wanted to come home, the Cheifs in P'cola were talking to him within 2 hours. I had called him myself to tell him, but am very thankful they were so quick and able to check on him. He is not coming home since he was told he would have to use all his leave for the funeral then stay in P'cola over Christmas. I feel bad he had to make this tough choice so early in his Navy career.

GoldenEmily - bangor is a beautiful base. My husband was stationed there for 12 years. The silverdale area has grown alot since he was first stationed there (1982)...we moved from the area in 2001. The rain is different there...it usually is only mist like and as long as you don't mind 40-50 temps, you can do just about anything! You can see the Brother Mountains from there! There is lots of eagles flying around and deer on the base! My favorite view from the nearby area is of Mt Rainier!

Ali, the pictures are so beautiful...

In case I don't get on tomorrow, I hope everyone has a blessed and happy thanksgiving!

Hey Molly, just want to say thanks for always passing on your Navy knowledge. It helps me ask my sailor specific questions and get more info from him.
I was reading the posts on spending after BC. He has always been good with money but it warms my heart to have him call and say I'm getting my brother and sisters this or that for Christmas. I am so proud of the way he looks outside himself and thinks of others. The Navy has brought many good traits to the front.
Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving !!!

Hi Alli
I'm so glad you are home. I knew you would have an amazing time. Did you get to tour the base at A school? It is very nice. Daniel also loves it, and he also has become very money "aware" . Love the pic.

Good Morning everyone
I know we are all getting ready for Thanksgiving but I wanted to let each one of you how thankful I have been to know you all. We have all been thru emotion hell with boot camp and then most of us have seen our kids graduate and now pursue their new lives. For the few moms who's kids have gone a different path, may God show them their way, although at this time the Navy may not be their path. I'm sure there is another path that may be even better in their future. I love you all and hope you each a wonderful holiday and safe travel.

Ali enjoy your time with him...that is a really nice amount of break time...not too long but not too short either!
