Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 415 and 416

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hello Ladies.. My son is Ship 03 Div 415....Just sent out my first letter today and was excited to briefly speak to him on Friday, but that call was all business..he needed some additional information.

i love having a link to other moms. my son is ship 03 div 416. looking forward to the PIR. this is my second navy son. and the graduation ceremony is wonderful.

Looking forward to the ceremony too.  Putting final touches on our travel plans. Is there anything you recommend since you've done this before?  Would like to know how much time we actually get to spend with our sailor.

Hello KB20WJ I attended my nephews PIR this past April. Afterwards he just wanted to spend the time he had with the family back at the hotel and we ordered in. We had 8 hours because they earned an extra hour. The next day my sister was able to get a pass and wait with him in the USO lounge at the airport. She said it was nice. His fiancé and her son were there also. I am planning to do the same for my son. Our kids our together. My son said he is doing fine just very tired. He also was getting a stuffy nose so I pray he wasnt getting the boot camp funk. I look forward to hearing from you with your news.

hey Sea turtle Thats cool our sons are together.  I'm sure mine is tired to.  Talked to him Friday...needed additional info...and sounded tired.  I mailed a letter to him today and his sister will be writing one to send tomorrow.  My husband is putting the finishing touches on his.  Can't wait to be able to send goodies to him.  My banana bread and pumpkin pie is his favorites. :)

my oldest son finished bc in 2003. he then attended A school at great lakes, so we were able to spend the afternoon after pir, Saturday picked him up at 8 am then back to base at 7pm, sunday about the same but back to base early. he was a corpsman and spent 6 years active with several tours with marines to afganistan. the pride you feel , helps make up for the worry and time away. my youngest is now in and will go to A school in texas. i'm not sure when he will leave after pir, but will savor ever moment we get to be together. it may be hard at times but be proud they have chosen to serve. the navy was able to do things that I couldn't as a mom .....like making their bed. lol

My son is also div 416. Where will your son be going to A School and what job? I believe my son will be going to Pensacola, Fl. For Aviation electronics engineer. How long did you get with your son after PIR? Also, was he sent to airport later that same night for his flight the next day? We have booked our flights and hotels today. So excited to see them all graduating, very proud.
Hello Kimsha my son is in div 415 your sons brother division. He will be going to Pensacola for A school we think. We should have 6 - 8 hours after PIR depending on how quick you leave and where you are staying. They usually fly out on Sat and are taken by bus loads to the airport. They could have a 5pm flight but be there at 6 am. We will not know flight details until the week of PIR. If you can plan to spend Sat at the airport in the USO lounge. Very excited and proud also. The days cannot go by quick enough.

my son will be going to texas, so im not sure how much time we will have after pir. I booked a room for the weekend and hope for the best. my older son went to A school  at great lakes so we had the weekend days together. my son will be MA ...master at arms. they will be different when we see them, but in a good way, and yes you will be soooo proud.

I received my first letter today. Was so nice to receive that after missing his call today.
We received our twenty minute call on Saturday. My son is division 416. So hopefully you will receive your call this Saturday:) he said that they kept them up for 52 hours when they first got there before their moment of truth meeting and processing. Said a lot off them caught the 'recruit bug' but he was feeling better and eating more oranges! He was very homesick but said there is a guy in his division that has a wife and two kids so hecan't feel too bad for himself. My son is the education petty officer so helping everyone study and pass tests. They are all looking forward to graduation. I can't wait the first week went by so slowly but this second one was quicker so going the rest fly by. Booked our flights from California.

We're from California too.  I haven't purchased our tickets yet ($$).  Hope the prices don't keep going up!
