N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I must have looked up 15 vacation packages but no luck! Every hotel seems to be an hour away from PIR ! Any tips?

I got a call from son today, Ship 03 Div 416, so shocked to get a call on a Thursday but thrilled. It seems it all depends on your RDC and how you have been doing. He said that a couple people got pushed back after testing but everyone else is hanging in there. He realizes the 'game' and why it's necessary and is just doing what they want when they want. He feels he has really grown as a person and a man, so I was excited to hear him say that about himself. Another week down and closer to PIR!!

Phone call yesterday and 3 letters to me and my 2 daughters today! He is doing well and is Starboard section leader and controls the Deck logs They passed some tests and studying for more. He says he is eating well and put on 6 lbs. and their unit earned/ won a flag for PIR. Best part he likes it all and the friends he is making! Happy family here! GoNavyMoms!

I was so excited about my letters I forgot to give you some important info.... My SR said in his last letter that they ( ship 09 division 417) were getting phone time on Sunday evening (he's words "so be expecting that") so keep your phones close by mom's!!!! :)

diannep  That's good to know too. I think if they have one of the tougher RDCs and can make it through boot camp with him, then that would make the accomplishment all that more satisfying for all.  Sending positive thoughts their way :)

diannep Thank you for the info.

KB20 I asked my son what was going on in your sons division, because they are brother divisions. Here is what he said... That there RDC is very tough on a scale of 1-10 he said he would give him a 8. He said he wasn't sure why they where doing bad. He said 415 scored  a higher score then his division (416) and no one was being told they could go home. He also said that he thinks they just tell them that to scare them if people keep acting up. Hope this helps.

BKNavyMom Ship3 DIV416 Glad you got to talk to your son. And that's funny cause when I was talking to my son I asked him he new someone by the name of  ******* and he said yes he actually started laughing cause he goes we where just talking about our moms being on Navy for moms and how they probably talk to each other. You must have been talking to him when I was talking to mine cause I said to my son well be sure to tell him I talked to his mom and he said well he is probably telling her right now because he is on the phone. He said that yes they are pals. So glad they have each other to talk too. My son made it sound like they all did well on a big test so that's why they got to make phone calls. Hopefully your son was able to call someone else. My son said that they had an hour to make phone calls. What job does your son do in boot camp? My son said they work in the office together. I guess your boss has never had a child in boot camp. Still glad you got to speak with your son.
