N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The TG with a PIR date of 10/25 ends with divisions 407/408, this group started with divisions 409/410. This group has reported SR's up to division 419/420, so divisions 407-420, and 951. The next TG is receiving letters and the divisions reported start at 421-422. This is a good indication that this TG has "closed" with thirteen divisions.

Since the RTC has not posted the divisions for this TG we are assuming what we are see is correct, and this TG has thirteen divisions. Here is a link to the RTC website regarding guests.

http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp

When the RTC posts the divisions I will add the number of guests to the title of the group.

SenoraFS9 .......... PIR group 10/25( group that is graduating the weekend before us) ended with Div 408.

PIR group 11/8 ( group that is graduating the weekend after us started with Div. 421

so if you count from 409 (Which is the beginning of our division PIR 11/1 to Div.420 and add Div.951 to it. (Which is the end of our group You end up with 13 Divisions total . Which means our group will only be able to have 3 guest at graduation. Hope this makes sense.

Senora:  RTC has not posted the divisions in this PIR group yet. However, ellen (group creator) has been keeping track of the divisions posted by the ladies on here and she has come up with at least 13 divisions.  In that case, each sailor will only be allowed 3 guests into PIR Hall.  We are awaiting official word from RTC on the divisions.  Once those are posted, we can tell you for sure how many guests are allowed.   It is looking like 3 though.

I'm sorry, I don't understand the whole "If you look at the last div. # in PIR 10-25 and look at the beginning # of PIR N0V.8 You will see that we have 13 divisions in our group."

I'm an Army brat and Air Force vet and I'm still learning the Navy jargon. My SR is in DIV 951 w/ a grad date of 01 Nov. Could someone please point me in the right direction to find out if we can actually bring 3 or 4 guests to the graduation.

Appreciate it so much!!!!

The first few weeks are hard for the recruits....usually, they have a "turnaround" at about training week 4, which is actually bootcamp week 5 or 6 (remember, they have processing days first that are included in bootcamp weeks but not training weeks).  They are sailors after training week 6.  Send lots of letters/cards (white envelopes....some RDCs don't like colored envelopes!) because mail call is like Christmas morning for them!  Send nothing but encouragement and please don't pass along negative news....they need to focus on bootcamp and need positive uplifting info!

If this group for sure will have at least 13 divisions, and it looks the way, then for sure only 3 guests will be allowed at PIR.   But remember that your extras can watch the livestream on their computers and meet up with you back at the hotel.  So please bring them all!

On addressing your letters, if anyone has mailed any without Recruit Training Command in the address, that is ok.  They actually show the address on the RTC site without that in it, so either way is fine.

Smile09....... under 2 years old do not.

As of January 1st, 2013 Recruit Training Command will enforce the following policy:

ALL GUESTS, including Active Duty/Retired Military Personnel and those ages 3 and older must be on the access list. Children 2 and under do not need to be on the access list.

12 or less divisions within the training group: FOUR guest maximum per recruit.

13 or more divisions within the training group: THREE guest maximum per recruit.

Individuals not on the access list will NOT be able to enter the drill hall and we do NOT have a standby list. In addition please plan on arriving at least 1.5 hours before the ceremony, which begins promptly at 9:00 a.m.

Do children "count" as a guest?

Comment by 503 808 on September 17, 2013 at 12:50pm

KB20WJ.... That is why I am trying to get the word out before people start making arrangements. If you look at the last div. # in PIR 10-25 and look at the beginning # of PIR N0V.8 You will see that we have 13 divisions in our group. Which means according to the RTC website which was published Jan. of this year it states 13 or more divisions equals 3 guest. If you go down on comments I copied it and posted it from the RTC website.

Comment by 503 808 on September 17, 2013 at 12:44pm

Smile09.......Mine came with 4 spaces also but PLEASE read the RTC website it explains that when a group has more the 13 divisions( like we do) the guest number goes from 4 to 3. Hope this helps. I would hate for people to get all the way there then find out. Also our recruits will have 1 more time to furnish the actual guest list before graduation.
