N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Our letter also had 4 lines for guests and hope its not an issue either because we also have 4, but really need to know if its 3 or 4 ASAP due to making flight arrangements.

Ours did not have the RTC part on the address either.  Also, our form letter came with 4 lines for guests, not 3.  Hope there is not an issue when we get there because we do have 4 guests.

503 808 ship 03 Div 416 PIR Nov1   My son's for letter had everything on it you listed except for the RTC part.

Does anyone know if the letters we send do they have to say Recruit Training Center on them somewhere in the address? My son's letter did not have that in his address. Got this from the RTC website.

The proper format for recruit mailing addresses is:
SR LAST NAME, FIRST NAME, MI
SHIP XXX DIV XXX
RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
GREAT LAKES IL 60088-XXXX

Got this from the RTC website..........Hope this helps...........How many guest that are allowed at graduation...........

Pass-In-Review Access List:

RTC does not issue tickets for the graduation ceremony;
instead Recruits are permitted to place the names of their
intended guests on the access list.
The number of guests allowed per Recruit is dependent on
the number of divisions in the training group.
12 or less divisions within the training group:
FOUR guest maximum per Recruit.
13 or more divisions within the training group:
THREE guest maximum per Recruit.

Hello 503 808 ship 03 Div 416 PIR Nov1 I received the form letter and brochure for the PIR Nov 1 and my son had 4 guests for Ship 03 Div 415. Not sure why some had 3.  Also you may want to join the discussion under this group for Ship 03 DIv 415 and 416.

Amanda, if it makes you feel any better, I have heard that the first couple of weeks are very hard for some recruits, but it gets much better for them. Hang in there. Send her a letter everyday of encouragement and let her know she is loved. Sadly, that's all you can do at this point. Just remember, next time you see her she will be both happy and proud!!

My daughter is on Ship 12 Div 409
Ship date Sept 3rd and Geaduation date Nov 1st
I thought when I heard from her I'd feel better but when she called on Saturday she cried the entire time and I feel helpless!
Comment by 503 808 on September 17, 2013 at 9:21am

My son did tell me on Saturday when he called, that they were only allowed 3 guest. Sorry for not mentioning it earlier. I didn't wanna say anything until it was official. Not sure if other moms heard that on Saturday. Still not a 100% sure. But if you look at Lemonelephant's comment about the new divisions starting  it makes sense. Our PIR has 13 divisions which equals 3 guest per the rules.

Here is the official word from the Public Affairs Office regarding extra guests allowed onto RTC to watch the PIR livestream in the Chapel:

Ma'am,

We would like extra guests to stay off base to watch the PIR live streamed. If a guest absolutely needs to be on base and is not on the guest list they will go to the Chapel.

Respectfully,
