OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

LisaCast and Emily :)
I feel so much better hearing from the same division family! Everyone has started talking about baskets and i haven't logged on in so long that i was pretty lost lol! But an Academic flag! That's awesome! My fiance Kashif called me twice as well, both sundays, and both times he just wanted to know what i was up to lol sounded like he wanted to get away from BC for a bit and get a little piece of home :) so i had no idea they got a flag! Thank you for the heads up :)
Kash did tell me that the division was having a really hard time in the beginning, i got really worried when i heard they might get set back a week but i recently read that it's all a bluff to scare them! Thank God! Lol
What are your boys' names Emily and Lisa?

Emily, Lisa and Lucille, just read all the posts... Addison told me he probably wasn't going to be able to call for a while after our last phone conversation on last Monday. I feel sad today because I was kind of getting used to getting his phone calls every weekend... I miss my baby!!! 0nly 25 days and 10 hours to go until we get to see our sailors!!!! ❤️⚓️❤️⚓️❤️⚓️❤️

Hmmm....with security as it is now, not sure about that KatXmom.  Not sure I would take a chance!  Although the way some "normally" dress daily...sometimes looks like costumes to me!  :-)
