N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Got another call:)  And after all that, my SR said he wants me to be there and NOT his dad, so now I have to be the one to tell his dad.  I am going to wait until Wed and see what my ex says before I say anything.

Rhonda, I am sorry to hear that your daughter is being asmo'd. There is a reason for it, and when she calls again this weekend I hope she can explain what the issue is.

Comment by KatXmom ship09div418PIR11/01/13 on September 30, 2013 at 6:00pm

Oh SMILE09... I hope he makes the right decision and doesn't go for your sake. You should be there!!! And RHONDA, I am sorry to hear about that.

I just had to alter my road trip and booked a flight instead due to this 3 person limit. Was just a tad bit too much for me to drive alone. The bright side is that my little one gets to go to the college Halloween festivities the Saturday before...

So sorry Rhonda:(  I just did a really difficult thing.  I called my ex-husband (who really hasn't been there most of our SR's life) and told him about the 3 guest deal.  I told him that I would not go in if he wanted to be the one to see the PIR live.  I felt a stab of pain as I said it.  The other two guests are my husband and SR's little brother - they missed the last PIR for our oldest son because the list was "full" at that time as well.  I have now left this in God's hands and have to be OK whichever way it turns out.  Ex said he will let me know by Wed.

So bummed out right now just received a call from my daughter her Pir has been pushed to 11/8/13i hate how they can do this to people. This is terrible, she could only speak for a minute, said she will call again on the weekend to tell me why. It seems that she is going to another division. So bummed can't believe that.

Such a bummer that our SR's are allowed only 3 guests:( 20 year old daughter and 10 year old son will have to watch from HOTEL:(

Question that is old, but I can't find the posts.  I am unable to charge my son's phone card and he is out of minutes.  Was there a place I could call and get free cards for military kids?
