for
~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

SMW729,
Isaiah 46:4 is very comforting to me too!! You're welcome~
Thank you CatMom509, I needed that. Perfect timing.
mimi~I agree! I happened to be home when he called, but now I am DEFINITELY carrying a small pad of paper in my purse with a pen! I was feverishly writing down everything he said so I could tell the rest of the family! And report some on here too :)
Diannep - do you know if the Navy Lodge livestreams (is that the correct word, lol) the PIR?
Congrats on the calls!
Also, for those who find Navy Lodge is booked, keep calling back (call, don't check online). They DO get cancellations!
TheRocksmom: Phase up means that they earn progressive privileges from their accomplishments when at A School. They will be told about the specifics of this during INDOC once they arrive at their A School.
MOMTORQR: You can have as many as you like come up for PIR but like you said, just the 4 at actual PIR. The others can watch the Livestream at the hotel and meet up with you after PIR is over. Then....celebrate!
I got a call from my son about an hour ago also! Woo hoo! He's Div 369. He sounded really good... Today they are on Day 1-5. Tomorrow is their 1st inspection, & Monday is their 1st test! They had their 1st PT already. There's a lot of yelling, but it's not constant. Most of what they've been doing so far is marching, folding clothes, making their bed, cleaning, standing at attention with their mouth shut, and standing watch (up until bedtime the shifts are 4 hrs, thru the night shifts are 2 hrs). It was awesome to hear his voice again & ask a few questions. Oh, and he wrote a letter Sunday & mailed it out; I'm hoping to get it soon! He said they are SO busy he won't really have time to write to most most people, as Sunday he will have church, has to clean, and has to study for the test Monday. He is REALLY looking forward to receiving his first letter on Sunday (good thing we have mailed a bunch already!)
Also, he told me last names of a few guys he is friends with there. If you have a son who flew out of San Diego 9/9 and whose last name starts with D (& is going to Pensacola for A school), starts with C (& is going to Pensacola for A School), or starts with L (& is not going to Pensacola for A School); or a son from Brooklyn whose last name starts with M (& is going to Pensacola for A School & A CTN), or whose first name starts with a W (he had to go, so I don't know any more except this is his bunkmate); could you please PRIVATE MESSAGE ME? I just want to touch base with someone whose son is actually friends with my son!
