Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

TraG151, wow that was a creative way to send you a message!  I got tears in MY eyes just reading that!

swimgeeksmom & TheRocksmom, I hope you guys get calls next weekend too :)  I have been a crazy person about having my phone with me & checking it constantly, making sure I didn't miss a call, making sure it's on vibrate or the ringer is on depending where I am.  Next weekend I will be even more crazy knowing they are supposed to be getting calls!

TheRocksmom, thanks for lighting the blue candles and praying for all of our sons & daughters!  I have been praying for all of them also :)

I was thinking about meeting a lot of you moms at the Meet & Greet, and all of us going by our Navy for Moms names, since that's how we know each other, haha.  Made me chuckle!

Any other PACT Seaman mom's?  My daughter doesn't go to A school after PIR but is staying in GL for 3 weeks of training.  Just wondering if any others out there.  :)

Hi everyone! I know I am quite in here. But you guys are all great. I finally got the form letter and at the very bottom it said I love you guys. When I got his box I opened it and all there was was his shirt, belt, and phone. I grabbed his phone and put it on charge so it would be ready for him. I have been thinking about his shirt a lot. So yesterday I told my 18 year old son to grab it for me just to smell it. And he walked in crying so hard and showed me his shirt it said I love you guys that he had written on it. I lost it, my heart was broken. I miss his so much! I can't wait to hear his voice! Thank you all!

Good morning,  I am happy for the moms who received calls. I hope I get call next week too swimgeeksmom! I am so afraid I will miss the call, the signal won't be strong on my phone and or he will call when we r not home. It's nerve wracking. I want all the moms to know, that I light a blue candle every evening for our sons/daughters, I look up at the stars and pray for them all to stay strong and don't get discouraged. I look forward to meeting the moms that are on this site during meet and great! I am so thankful this site exsists, I would be a hot mess by now if it didnt, lol enjoy your Sunday and who knows maybe swimgeeksmom, today we "maybe get call"
