Welcome to the discussion group for division 952.
Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!
UGH! Are you serious??? That is FRUSTRATING! Did he write the letter on Sunday? But YEAH for you for getting a letter!!! Nothing here yet. =(
Yes, he said the date was Sept. 30th...it just killed me. He told me he was in this special division, but didn't say what he would be doing or anything. He did say the food was awesome...lol. I hope your letter will be waiting for you tomorrow.
I got a letter today. My first. She is absolutely miserable and wants to come home.
Yeah my son says it sucks, but it is getting better especially since it is almost week 3. I hope your next letter is better. Gosh, it is almost worse with the letters than without, huh? Don't get me wrong, I am so happy to see his handwriting and can see his expressions in his writing, but gosh it is hard knowing we can't go up there and make it better for them. Oh, why didn't anyone ever tell us being a mom could be so difficult:)
my husband said
The same reason I want to come home is the same thing that's keeping me here.
he hates it there too so i feel your pain
No doubt. I so wanted to get a letter and don't get me wrong I'm glad I did but I didn't expect her to be as down as she is. Like you said I just want to go up there and make everything better.
Oh geez guys....you are making me almost NOT want to get a letter! =(
I did read on here to expect them to hate it in their first letters....but then as the division pulls together and the training lets up a little bit; their morale is SUPPOSED to improve. Let's hope!
As far as my son goes, I think the PT part will be OK for him, as he is pretty fit. But it's the organization and studying part....well, (EVERYTHING BUT the PT part) that has me worried.
Hugs to both you ladies that got your letters today! Awwww....and to ALL our kids struggling through BC right now too! =(
Well we live here in IL so our letters might be a bit quicker. And the biggest thing that bothered me was him not getting the letters. I expected him to not like it, the recruiter told me to expect letters that sounded really bad for the first few, but about as soon as they were reaching home that things would already be looking up. Let's hope he is right. I would like to think he is. So far the things the recruiter said seem to be correct. He kind of dispelled some of the bad rap they get.
We are the ones that our children can tell everything to. They feel like they can tell us this and in return they will feel better, even if only for a little bit. They are continuing on...wow, we have some strong children. We all must have done something right:) Be strong for them and for yourselves, even if this is the hardest thing you have ever done. It sure is one of the hardest things I have done. He is the first one to really leave home. My daughter left, but she is only 30 minutes away and we see her often and talk daily. Sorry to make this so long. Stay strong moms. We are here if you need to vent.
I received my first personal letter from my husband yesterday morning and it upset me more than made me happy, why hasnt he gotten any of my letters yet? I have written him every single day since he left and have mailed off multiple pictures of our son to him. He thinks I havent written him and even sent me stamps to make sure he gets a letter from home. He says theyve cussed him out multiple times and is having a rough time there. I feel misserable for letting him go through with all of this.
I am so sorry NavyWife, my son said he didn't get any letters either. I have read that they hold their mail for 2 to 3 weeks and then have to train someone for that. I also heard they may have gotten mail on Sunday after they wrote. Hang in there...when they do get them, they will get a nice stack. I cried when I read my son hadn't gotten any of my letters. I have been mailing them for over a week and a half when he wrote that. Hopefully by the next letter he writes he will be able to tell me he is sick of my letters...lol.
We are thinking they haven't gotten a mail clerk trained in yet. My son wrote to me on the 26th and said it was Week 1 Day3; and I've heard it takes a couple weeks to get them trained. I got his letter yesterday as well, and it sounded like he hadn't gotten any of mine yet either. But I have to say....what a sweetheart for sending you stamps!!! Most definitely a keeper!! Sounds like the RDC's have been doing lots of yelling and cursing, according to my son. Send him words of encouragement and be strong for him. Like I told my son....keep your eyes on the prize! And the recruiter told him; just remember boot camp is a mind game. Go in there knowing you have to play their game for 2 months, and then it's over!
