Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 371 & 372.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I have received for my first batch of letters on Saturday (06Oct12). I live in California. He said that they are allowed to write every day (if the time allows) but mostly writing days will be Sundays. I believe he said they will only mail out once at week on Mondays. I have asked his mom if she received anything yet (she lives in Japan) and she hasn't. It may be slow to get there though. So maybe depending on where you live, the mail is slow for you too...  Hope you hear from him soon!!

I received my first letter today.  It actually had 4 letters in one envelope.  I was thrilled.  Cried the whole time reading them.  He sounds so good in the last letter...not so much in the first.  Can't wait to hear his voice now!!

Got letters today from 372!!! Sooooo relieved to hear from my SR!! Nothing personal about any other shipmates - letters were short and sweet ;) Cant wait for more!!!

I finally received 3 letters today from my SR. Two from him and the PIR info letter. I have to admit I started to cry. Family just doesn't get it. Being here on this site makes me realize it's ok to get emotional. There are babies for Christ sake! All of you are such a great comfort.

Ship 12/Div 372

Got my first letters today. My SR is doing fine. He is tired of course, but doing good. He made E-2 class. He feels proud of himself. Keep it up son. I can't wait to see him come PIR day.

I just got my call too!!!!  Was so excited to hear his voice.  He sounded really good even though he has a cold and has had one since he got there.  He is excited for Nov 9th...I think as much as I am.

So glad.  Sure make you feel better doesn't it?  I sure do!

I too got my phone call!!!! LOVED every second of it!! I was so excited.  He sounded really good.  I believe, NICKCMOM our sons were bunkmates until this morning when they all changed.  I told him I was on this page.  My heart feels so much lighter just hearing his voice!!!

Yes, I think they were...he said he was really cool and they had become really good friends :-)   I could hardly think of everything I wanted to ask him...and I broke down once and couldnt even talk...thank goodness he knows how I am and he didnt start crying.  He just asked me if I was ok and I told him yes, that I just missed him.  Can't wait to see the little snot!

We haven't gotten a call yet - ever:(  We have received one letter, last week.  Does anybody know if they are getting mail yet?  I sent my son a phone card - and even sent our phone numbers - since we all use mobile phones and no home phone any more - I'm not sure if he remembered our phone numbers!  I was fine until we got a letter - now I am waiting to get the next!  I hope we get a call too!!

It is so good to hear that your son is doing well!  My son, Trevor Barksdale - may be going by his middle name at boot camp - Bill - said his ankles were blistered - worst in the Div, but refused to got to medical.

I will ask my son about him in my letter tomorrow. I'm sorry you didn't get a phone call.  The waiting is horrible, I know.  Maybe he hadn't got the phone card.  I sent several with my son so if that is the case, I will ask him to let your son use one of his.  My son says there is a facebook page, besides the us navy recruit page for just us in this division.  Can't find it, has anyone seen it?

Thanks, that's so nice.  Hopefully he will get his phone card before your son gives him one.  I saw that they get time every day to write - Trev said they never get time to write(we think Trev just doesn't like to write - hoping he's studying if he's not writing!)
