A good suggestion is to write down any questions you want to ask your SR because when you do get the call you will be so excited that you will forget most of what you want to ask him. When my son called the first time I answered, said a few words then handed the phone to his dad because I was ready to cry(almost crying right now thinking about it haha). then when I got the phone back I still forgot to ask him anything important!
I have no doubt God has been taking care of me all my life, especially the past 10 years, could have never survived what we have had to if he hadn't been taking care of us and giving us strength. I just have to adjust and I will, but I would still love to hear my sweet boys voice!
Thanks so much Sherri B... It helps knowing other moms are in the same "boat". :-D!!! I am so used to seeing and talking with my son Jeffrey (aka "Reff") daily. I am confident he is doing well, but.... the not being about to communicate can be absolutely nerve racking. [btw... this may be a goofy question, but I've been trying to put a pic of my son for my profile pic. I still can't figure out to display it. Any helpful hints so I can PROUDLY display a profile pic] Thanks you again :-) Wendy--aka "ReffsMama"
For the past ten years it has been just my SR and me living at home as his brothers are 10 and 13 years older than him, they live close but its not the same as knowing he was here when I woke up every morning with the coffee ready (if I could teach the dog how to make coffee and clean her mess in the yard she would be the perfect roomate!) but my SR did the yard work, trash, the big things around the house. The last two weeks he was home he kept asking me if I would be alright when he was gone, I promised him I would be. And I am trying so hard not to cry or get to sad and worried, not sure how well that is working.
We all seem to be on pins and needles today, waiting, hoping and praying for a call. I think when it does come, I'll burst into tears and won't be able to say anything!
sameeeee...my best friend was calling me last night, whom I love, but I was like, damn, why is it you calling and NOT him lol! the only time right now i want to hear it ring is when it's him! :(
So true dianne, but SO hard to think of that now lol...all I do is carry my cell phone on me 24/7..and obsessively stare at it or check it wondering if I'll ever get that call...ugh. 39 Days left, thank GOD. lol
