WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Markelle, cool that your guy is so thoughtful. Mazzyhopefan & Juliette, I'm not sure how close those hotels are. I don't recall seeing any hotels close to the base but we did come the back way like Sarge suggested at his Meet & Greet at the Sundance-which by the way was very informative. If you don't rent a car, Sarge runs a cab service which is supposed to be really good. We drove so we didn't need his service but others have really raved on how good he was. We stayed at the Quality Inn which did have a free shuttle to the graduation. The room was okay and they had a nice serve yourself breakfast available.

We got a letter today!!!!!  so happy to hear from him.  Says it was VERY tough at first but getting better, kinda like high school except no talking at lunch (lol), he didnt pass his mile and 1/2 run but WILL...

couldnt have asked for a better report!!  he said he had NOT gotten any of our letters yet, we sent last thursday.

mazzyhopefan, If you are able to rent a car I would recommend you do so. Though the walking distance may be close it is sometimes not possible to walk to your destination.

Taking a taxi everywhere can add up quickly and most of the time ends up costing more than renting a car for a couple of days.

MarkelleGohr, you need to write your BF and tell him to start teaching classes on being a romantic during holiday time!  (After they all write letters to their gf/fiances/wives, of course!)  SO SWEET!

Comment by mazzyhopefan (ship 14 div 367) on September 27, 2012 at 1:47pm

Exactly! I'm hoping there are restaurants around, within walking distance because we aren't renting a car. Are you arriving Thursday Juliette?
