For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I haven't gotten the form letter but my daughter's recruiting officer was very helpful and provided her address and expected PIR date. I am SO excited. I am going to begin shopping for airfare after my next payday. Already gathering SO much great info about the trip and looking forward to ti.

The numbers R 2012 368 I, would mean R=recruit, 2012 is the year, 368 is the division, and the I=integrated division.

So your SR is in ship 14 (USS Arizona) is a recruit, entering (graduating) 2012, in division 368 an integrated division, (I think I have it all correct).

Your SR and Boca's are in brother divisions 367/368

Your the first one here that I've seen another Ship 14 so I had to respond : ) My SR shipped out 9/12 also and the only information I have is from his recruiter. He said has a tentative 11/9/12 PIR and he is in Ship 14 but the Div # was crazy looking (R2012368i). Not sure what to make of all those numbers and letters! I haven't received a letter yet, but am hoping in next day or two...
