WELCOME TO PIR 11/09/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

diannep - Brett and his family are in my prayers.  So sad to hear about his leg.  God please give him the strength to keep fighting.

Also praying for everyone in the path of this terrible storm. Be safe!

Stay warm Cindi, our lights keep flashing off and on as well. We don't have another heat source so hopefully the poser will stay on. Any other NC, TN or WV families on here? They are tracking heavy winter snow for the mountains tonight. Definitely not our normal Oct weather. Stay warm, dry, and safe to all our friends no matter where you are in the path of this storm.

Hope everyone is staying safe through the storm. We are under a blizzard advisory. It is putting the snow down. Light have flashed hopefully they stay on. Schools cancelled all around us.

Sad news on Brett today, ladies.  They had to amputate his right leg this afternoon.  It was his leg...or his life.  Just too much infection....we are heartbroken.  But still trusting in the Lord to heal him....dr feels that this will help him get on the path to recovery now....he is still on dialysis to kick start his remaining kidney.  Hopefully they took out the ventilator now and put in a trach.  Please pray especially hard for his wife Susan and mom Greta who are there with him....this is like a grieving process over the lost leg.....thanks so very much for all of the prayers.

Glad you are back & safe. I really wanted to order ribbons but unfortunately, I am so strapped with the trip and all. But thank you for your help. I was so glad to speak to you.

Hi everyone, we made it home late last night from VA Beach. We had a great time visiting our Sailors but just not enough time spent with them. Hurricane Sandy was a pretty big concern so we came home a day early. Now expecting snow here at home. Could be just a trace and some areas 7 to 10 inches. It all depends on which "expert" you listen too lol. I hope you all are far away from the storm and if you are in it's path please be safe. You all are in our prayers.
