Matt'smom, wish we were driving from GA, but my dh's back won't let him! Looking forward to meeting you! Had a good letter from Dennis today so feel a lot better about everything! Their div has struggled but sounds like they are also making friends and trying to help each other out.
We are driving from New Orleans, LA area.
WOW! (sorry about the Saints, btw)
I really like driving and seeing different areas, and would love to have seen any Lincoln historical sites along the way in Kentucky and Illinois. Oh well, just have to be content w/renting a car at the airport, to drive to the hotel and around the area. At least I will see Lake Michigan.
lol.... The Saints certainly were not at their best this week! I am not sure what the heck happened to them but it was not good. We keep thinking it was Drew's new baby and maybe lack of sleep :). I am actually from Kentucky and it is beautiful area to see. I have never been up to the Great Lakes area so we are looking forward to that and getting to see Lake Michigan too. Have you heard any details about division 370 and why they seem to be having problems?
proudmom, I just know they were a rush division, had to learn a lot in a short time to catch up with the other divs. Maybe some could not handle the pressure? I've read comments from the 369 group about them getting in trouble for talking too much, and my SR did say that too about 370. Got a letter today where he mentioned some "almost fighting" and a couple being released for that. I've been so concerned for all of them, but his letter today sounded more upbeat and was talking about 'A' school, so I was happy to get a sense that he thinks they're gonna make it -- but he is a real Eeyore type, looks on the negative side sometimes.
Just so it is not mine causing the problems lol... ( I seriously doubt that) By this point I really do hope they are learning to work together and do what needs to be done without getting into trouble. It is just sad knowing that an already difficult couple of months has to be even more difficult for them with problems going on. I am just praying that they are able to pull it all together and come through in the end. I have not gotten a call home saying my son failed anything or was being sent back so that has to be a good sign.
I'm flying out of Gulf Port, MS. We live in Mobile and when I purchased tickets they were $132 round trip each. I figure flying would be better as I can hardly stand the wait now and I know I would be horrible in a car with hubby, son, mom and step dad. I would be the one screaming "are we there yet" every other mile. LOL
Wow, you got a great deal on your tickets. Gulf Port is not far from us. Will have to keep that in mind for future trips.
Division 365 and 366 are on November 4th.
ricballen: Did you get this date from your recruit? If so, that's great. I just want to make sure you didn't put that down from what I posted, which was a guess. I'm pretty sure that being the 1st two divisions in the group that will be the day, but just want to be sure. Thanks!
Wow sounds like Fla. will be greatly represented at PIR 11/12!! I am from Okeechobee but am making this my vacation so am flying to Michigan on 11/5 then driving to GL on 11/11!! Good luck to 369 & 370!! See you there!!
And a big HOOYAH to 952!
