OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 6/23/2022 - MASK MANDATE IS LIFTED -  Vaccinations still required

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Just got our letter today so not sure how many out there have the same information.  7 days in and he says it sucks !!!  probably so !!  we'll start writing to him,  encourage him to keep going and remember that you go through Basic Training, you don't stay there.   Better things await those who persevere !

God Bless all the recruits

WOW !!! Cannot believe she is loving it and it is cool in Basic Training. Good for her, I hope those thoughts continue.
My son's comments were totally the opposite and it was written on day 2 and he was experiencing sleep deprivation. He said that if you fall asleep during class you have to stand for the remainder (4hrs.). I could tell he was mad so also know he experienced that big time !! Gotta love the consequences.
Since I knew the box was coming, I was okay with it and just saw it as more laundry. Gonna see them soon.
You daughter will get a shock with the difference in weather up there. Just hope it is decent enough to travel in, in Nov.
Good to hear from you.
i got my pir date letter today is form11/12/2010 my son jacob is in ship11 division 366 he put the wrong address for the box so how do i get the correct address to him
maybe you can send the correct address to him thru the letters you send.. Hopefully he won't send any till he gets the right address. I think it will still be awile till they write, keeping them pretty busy.
When you say "put the wrong address" on the box, which address do you mean? The address he shipped the box to or the address for you to send letters to him? If he sent the box to the wrong address, how did you get it, or have you not gotten it yet.

And Nola is right, now that you have an address to send letters to him, you can make sure he has the corrected address.
Hello ladies, just wanted to say it's not too early to make your travel plans. I made our hotel reservations today and if we need to change the date for any reason, you cancel pretty much up to the last minute with no charge. Was told the area hotels will fill up quickly so I jumped on that wagon. Most hotels have a shuttle to take your families to the base, which I thought was great so we don't have to drive. Remember to mention you are there for graduation and you might get a special rate.
We got $63 a nite for 3 adults at a Marriott so figured the hours I spent comparing and pricing paid off. ♥
Did you make them at the Residence Inn Marriott? I went online and didn't see that rate, so I'm guessing I'll have to call them....yes?

I'm also looking into flights and was thinking Midway instead of O'Hare due to flight options and cost. Anyone else doing this?
Yes, Diana and I think this helped:

HURRY, MUST BOOK BY OCTOBER 11, 2010! Reclaim your weekend and get 25 percent OFF when you book a weekend at Courtyard or Residence Inn.

Valid Through: January 2, 2011
sorry Diana, we don't need to fly but wish you well in your pursuit of options. ☼
thanks Nola!
I just looked online and it will be cheaper for us to fly into Milwaukee than to Chicago. (we live on the Gulf Coast in Mobile, AL), we had already planned on renting a car anyway. I have already booked our rooms at Ramada Inn and will soon book our flights.
How far is Milwaukee to Great Lakes?
diana, I mapped it and it looks to be about an hour. Does this help you in your flight plans?
